New bands you've found...

As the title suggests, what new bands/artists have you found that you enjoy from the current crop we have/any future announcements?

I personally had never really listened to Belle and Sebastian before to any great depth and I am loving quite a lot of their stuff!

The same with DFA 1979 so much so now that they are a must see and I will undoubtedly be going by myself!

Your turn...

Always heard a lot of good things about DFA 1979, but never listened to them for one reason or another. Them being on the line up gives a great excuse to listen get into them proper.

The Fall although obviously nowhere a near a "new band" is one that I hadn't listened to before so I've taken some time to recently to get into them, despite their overwhelming back catalogue! Really enjoying their music though.

Still want to listen to more of Young Fathers too! Only listened to "get up" which has a lot of potential.

So much music, so little time!

St Paul and the Broken Bones and Alvvays are my favourites so far (I think they are both TBC). And a special mention to Vintage Trouble who were my favourite new band last year but got rained off after a song and a half.

I saw Belle and Sebastian in Santiago last year, I wouldn't say they are the most spectacular live band you will ever see but they make up for it with charm and great songwriting

I've not got into anyone to the extent that they're a must see (probably just as well as they'll no doubt end up clashing) but I've started listening to Ryan Adams, Young Fathers, Caribou and Jamie XX since the lineup announcement, all of whom are good. I'll hopefully see a couple of them but doubt I'll manage to see all four due to clashes.

St Paul and the Broken Bones are great, singer is like a white, chubby Otis Redding. Terry and Gerry and who are an 80's skiffle band from the Midlands. The Glastonbury 2015 playlist that is floating around on here is a superb way of uncovering little gems like these.

Lianne La Havas & Future Islands I was aware of but now I'd call myself a fan now & then from the smaller bands I didn't know like Tankus The Henge, Skinny Lister & Maz O'Connor are all worth a listen - also like some of Ibeyi's stuff though took a while to get into.

not a new band but they are for me - Wolf Alice

Also Courtney Barnett and Caribou, had heard the name before the fest but never got round to listening to them (Caribou).

Good on all you who have discovered DFA1979, been a top band of mine for ages. One my list of 'must see no matter what the clash' bands!

Working through the rumour / confirmed list, probably not new to some but new for me! Bard, Circa Waves (they'll be brilliant if the weather's right), Father John Misty and Gregory Porter. And I know I'm about 2 decades behind on these two, but Belle & Sebastian and Super Furry Animals!

I am now an Ibeye and Wolf Alice fan ( watched last years JP performance after the fest as I saw someone else and really like them )

Not as small but another new love is Sharon Van Etten, had not heard her before, now love her :)

    • 1. Baby Dave - Billy 2. A - Prang   Not really got round to listening to many more in May so not really fair to vote but shoutout to EPs from Bleech 9:3 - Bleech 9:3 & Villanelle - Measly Means
    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
