The pyramid had only 6 bands with female members in 2013. Out of a poss 22.

I think Glastonbury caters for music with more female members than Reading, but still the Reading lineup is a disgrace to the representation to females at the main stages at festivals.

I agree completely.It's looking that way.The female acts are really grabbing the attention of the media. I think they are bored with male artists

Kylie, Madonna and Taylor Swift don't really make sense for remedying the problem of female acts at festivals because none are really festival acts and it's more a case of the festival moving out of it's comfort zone to accommodate them. They are already the big female artists without the help of any festivals. I (surprise!) think Florence would prove a point as her and her band have gigged and gigged and moved up and around festival lineups for years rather than just dropping in at the top but obviously that seems doubtful now. Not sure who else is on a similar platform but The xx and London Grammar will be in time.
