Not sure about Leeds this year. T looks a lot stronger in general although there are a couple of really great bands at Leeds this year that could sway me. Guess it depends on the next lot of lineups, but right now I see it this way:

Leeds AND T:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Disclosure
The Courteeners
Oliver Heldens
Hannah Wants
Maximo Park
Jack Garratt
Slaves
Blossoms
Rat Boy

Leeds:
Foals
CHVRCHES
Twenty One Pilots
Crystal Castles
The Neighbourhood
Nothing But Thieves
Two Door Cinema Club
Haim
Eagles Of Death Metal
Hinds
Sundara Karma
Biffy Clyro
The Vaccines
The Wombats
Savages
Cage The Elephant

T:
The Stone Roses
Jamie xx
The Coral
The Last Shadow Puppets
Catfish And The Bottlemen
Kaiser Chiefs
Travis
Tinie Tempah
Stiff Little Fingers
LCD Soundsystem
Chase And Status
Jake Bugg
FIDLAR

So there are more Leeds exclusives than T exclusives that I'd be interested in seeing (16 vs 13), but the acts at T are mostly stronger for me. Catfish, Shadow Puppets and obviously the Roses are massive for me, as are Jamie xx and C&S, but then Leeds has The Vaccines, Foals, Hinds and CHVRCHES. So it's close right now for me, but I think T looks stronger, and that's despite having less acts announced (I think).

R&L has The Dillinger Escape Plan
T does not
R&L wins

what are the chances of Enter Shikari returning this year, they are usually at reading every year.

They're headlining Hevy Fest so I'm going to say they're giving R&L a miss this year

Yeah I reckon they will. Seem like favourites with FR.

Depending on clashes they would be a must see. They put on such a great live show that whether you know their stuff or not you can't help but join in.

Guys, I think we should stop expecting Tame Impala now and just admit that the line up is sub par

meh, i'd rather see this line-up than any of the last 3 year's lineups in all honest. maybe that's just me though

1975 in the tent? Balls!

Going to Leeds for the first time (only for the Biffy day) and was hoping 1975 would be on before FoB.

Means I'm going to miss them at 2 festivals this year. Bah. Hope Frank Turner gets added on the Biffy day.

And where on earth would they play? haha, the top of the Biffy day is already packed, as I'd be amazed if 5FDP played lower than 4th down, considering lower than that would effectively be FR saying that they aren't ever going to be headliner sized, despite being one of the push bands for download for headliner. So just on MainStage we have:

Biffy
FOB
??
5FDP

and with The 1975 supposedly headlining the NME, we still have to get The Vaccines and A$AP Rocky in, or do you really think that The Vaccines and A$AP Rocky will both be playing under The 1975 on the NME?

Have to agree, if Frank Turner is playing, Biffy day won't be it. I'd say RHCP day is the most likely.

T is 2.5 hours drive. Leeds is 8. I wave at the T site on my way past. This T line up is a step back in teh right direction but since 2011 it's just been shite. It never used to be.

Simple solution is for The 1975 not to play in the tent

Enter Shikari ended up doing a surprise DJ set last year, hmmm can't see them playing this year but they are so good live.

it doesn't make sense for the 1975 to play in the tent, the flooded the tent in 2014 and they have only got bigger especially with their new album. Also if they played the tent they will clash with Biffy/FOB which would mean me missing out on them as i'd pick biffy.

I was surprised on how small the font was for 5FPD, they sold out Wembley arena I believe and also supported Slipknot at download last year. I would see them play 3rd just under FOB but probably are 4th on main stage.

I don't think Chvrches are anywhere near as hyped as the Vaccines were back then.

Towards the time of the festival yes, whrn they were announced no. Chvrches at least have a second album which the vaccines didn't. For randl they'd have a female fronted act high up the bill.

But still this is 3rd place not sub as people are mentioning.

Bit random and irrelevant to the conversation you're having - sorry!

But does anyone know how quickly the day tickets usually sell out? I know they're on sale now but I wanna know how long I have since I'm not getting weekend ticks this year?

I'm pretty sure it was end of July for the most popular day. The Friday for reading sold out about 2 weeks before.

I tried to get Saturday tickets a week before but they were sold out, so had to get it from a reseller. Managed to do so for FV.

all depends on how popular the lineup is with the public... I can see the Saturday and Sunday selling out around June but I may be wrong there.

Shikari won't headline, they're not big enough and are too much of a cult act

I think that is changing. Look at the venues they've played on this last tour. They're getting bigger and bigger by doing the opposite of a band like BMTH. BMTH are actively trying to become the biggest band going, where as Shikari aren't. I honestly think that the day will come when they headline R&L.

I hope Shikari are there, their 2014 show was on of my highlights. They wouldn't settle any less than 3rd on main stage or headline NME though.

YMAS are rumoured to play as they have a new album coming out but again they wouldn't settle for less than 3rd

You Me At Six will sub next time they play. They're big enough already.
