General Election 2015

The DUP is the Unionist Party. They wouldn't have too many problems supporting the tories.

Yeah, I should really call them Ulster Nationalist but my dad grew up in Northern Ireland in the troubles and he always called them Nationalists and groups like Sinn Fein and SDLP Republicans so I've edited it to make it clear (or I've gotten mixed up which I'd be extremely ashamed of  ). But I do find it surprising about how many people don't know the DUP are against Irish Unification

Heartbroken. It the exit polls are anywhere near accurate, my daughter will be nearly 10 by the time we have a chance again to rid ourselves of this horrible lot :(

And god only knows what damage they will have done by then.

Add to that apparently they are already saying "bring back New Labour"

God give me strength.

On the BBC exit poll numbers then the tories as a minority backed up by DUP would be enough (as sinn fein would abstain), with an extra 2 ukips in tow incase. That's the absolute worse kind of minority government I can think of...

Exactly the sort of result the snp are hoping for though.

Fuck the exit polls. Fuck them. I refuse to believe them, because if they're accurate, I genuinely cannot afford to live.

Amused about Lib Dems losing their deposits.

I can't believe them either - I should be happy because my current party is predicted to have the mother of all landslides. but I can't celebrate if we are faced with another 5 years of the Tories.

The party want to show that England are fucking Scots.

Voters not necessarily so.

I really don't want to fight with you guys tonight. I am as gutted as the rest of you.

This is the trouble - on the Beeb the SNP members etc. all looked bloody chuffed at the exit poll. All we can see is five more years of Tory shite. I'm sure most of the Scottish SNP voters feel the same, or at least I'd hope so.

That's why it riles people up, I think.

If the exit poll is right its going to be down to the SNP being toxic in England. The Tory scare stories worked.

Saying that though, I don't think the exit poll is right.

problem with your argument - is give labour 40 seats in Scotland & another 20 in England - labour are still miles short of a majority.

We are always being told that the SNP are always blaming everything on England - You seem to be doing something remarkably similar. Labour takes no responsibility for its own failure?

However like you Barry, I am deeply sceptical about the exit poll.

I have repeatedly criticised the SNP as a party.

I'm not going to suggest for a moment that you want a tory government.

Not that I'm prepared to believe this exit poll. It's just so different, and so twisted.

I think its a bit harsh to criticise politicians for being pleased with a prediction of the winning all but one seat in Scotland.

If we were to believe Neil's claims - we should all be dancing in the streets as this is apparently a dream result for us.

I'm not dancing.

the thing with the exit poll is that they could have pulled over more people who voted for certain parties than others without realising it.

really don't want a tory led govt for the next 5 years.... could be a painful few years

Agree, but I dont think it will be a walk in the park for torys to govern with a small coalition majority. Hopefully some of the left wing lib dems will be left to reign them in.

Anybody who voted Tory has shit for brains, anybody that voted Tory because of the shiny faced liar's scare stories are even worse than that. Democracy is a pain in the arse when so much of the country are thick and/or selfish toffs.

Anybody in the North voting Tory is the lowest of the low, they might as well bend over, and kindly offer the arses of all their family, friends and neighbours for the forcible buggering as well.

I just don't think these people live in the real world to be honest.

Any Scottish holds will make a difference to their overall number but not dent the conservative number as they'll not gain any Tory seats in Scotland, so im not sure what difference it would make unfortunately.

True, but I'm thinking of the bigger picture. If they were wrong on a Scottish 'whitewash' for the SNP, maybe they're wrong that certain Tory seats etc. will be held in England?

Had to bite my tongue today when my manager revealed "I'm not letting that lot run off with the economy again". Unbelievable, are you worried they have might cause another global recession? We all know that the disadvantages of a boom and bust economy can be blamed squarely on Labour... Better hope you're not ill in the next 5 years, mate, enjoy that massive gap between rich and poor getting even bigger. This guy's not even a Sun reading self-employed, we work for one of the biggest Labour supporters, the reason people work for this organisation is workers right and socialist principles. Fuck off to HSBC for cut-throat working conditions and a nice hefty paycheck, creamed off that tax that tax you evaded instead of letting it go to benefit the country if that's where you stand.

I am pleased to say that the majority of my colleagues are Green, followed by a strong Labour following from the older ones, and one or two Lib Dems. Just the one traitor.
