I hear Pitchfork Paris have another name to announce and she certainly has rapport with them. Really stupid but it's the tiniest tiniest hope and I'm trying to be a bit more frugal atm. Gonna skip and hope I can pick up tickets closer to the time when she definitely doesn't do it

She is playing Paris the following week though so might be a bit unlikely. Even if you skip this one though, the tour is so small that I'm sure she'll be back in the summer time doing festivals. Hoping so anyway.

I'm going to see Joanna Newsom at the Albert Hall.

ME TOOO!

My cup runneth over, all my dreams have come true!

I was literally just walking home thinking about how many of my all-time favourite bands I've seen this year and how I'll always remember it as like THE YEAR for gigs. Seen Modest Mouse, Patti Smith, Bjork, Owen Pallett, Sufjan Stevens, Portishead, Kanye West, Sleater-Kinney all for the first time this year, and it feels like all my Christmases coming in at once. I was thinking that the only big want left on my list of acts I haven't seen are Neil Young and Joanna Newsom, I knew she'd be touring soon, but I assumed spring/summer next year. I feel all overcome now.

I'm so happy! I literally couldn't believe it when i saw she was playing Albert Hall, as you said - dream come true. She'll be incredible.

I'm hoping for a few of Ys, as in my opinion it is her masterpiece and one of my favourite albums of all time. I do recognise though that she has a lot of newer stuff as well that she'd probably play, including an exciting new album! There's one thing that I really want though, and that's Emily. I pretty much decided on my last listen of Ys that it's my favourite song ever, i can't even imagine how much of a wreck i'd be seeing it live.

One other thing, the ticket order says 'unreserved seating' - that could be interesting in the AH. I'll have to decide whether it'll be better to get as near to the front as possible or get a spot on the balcony.

I'll try to get a decent spot, a 7 or 8 rows from the front, in the middle. I've never been seated in there so it should be good. For me, I think she's got better with every album, she's so unbelievably great that pretty much anything from Ys and Have One On Me will sound incredible live, so I'm not all that uptight with setlist choices. I do think Cosmia and Baby Birch would finish me off, though. I really love Sapokanikan, so I trust that the new tracks are going to be something special. I've pre-ordered the album, but I'm abroad that week and coming back the day of the gig, so this will most likely be the first time I hear most of the new stuff

Come on peeps, has anyone got any recommendations for new electro pop/electronic type stuff? Have not had time to keep up with this thread unfortunately, but would appreciate if some of you more knowledgeable peeps could steer me in the right direction.

This site introduced me to some good stuff last year and it was nice to hear something fresh and move away from the groundhog day of Madchester which all my friends have great difficulty in moving away from.

The Georgia album is pretty good, and definitely falls into that category.

Also not new at all, but I've just discovered the Vessles album, Dilate.

I'm desperately hoping that Burial is waiting for the nights to draw in before he drops something new, but that might just be me being optimistic!

Maybe it'll be a Christmas present, like Rival Dealer. Maybe it'll be the best thing he's ever done. Like Rival Dealer.

I just bought the new EP by Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique, Love Is Free. Sounds like really good, if mental, electro pop.

    • LCD Soundsystem seem perfect for the outdoor circuit. I could definitely see them doing that.
    • Thats a weekly one isn't it? He's been PM for two weeks and its been known longer than that. Labour , greens , lib dem's all seemed to be converging around 16/17% beforehand are now labour are breaking away.   The polls showing labour ahead have the lib dems down at something like 8%. I guessing as Burnham announces more blue labour policies like restarting north sea drilling those two parties will start to claw back a few of the voters they've lost.
    • No problem Entry time sorted - check Unreliable weather - check  Tickets 😬🕥🕧 ??
    • Stadium gig/s 100% 2027.   As for the offer - dunno what to think. The source is very well placed and, to me, the timing checks out - I'm basing that on the stadium gigs coming after an arena tour... coming after a new record... following a record that propelled them to the next level.   As I keep saying with any info I've shared for Glastonbury next year, though, none of it feels nailed to me.    I assume that they're doing a half decent job of keeping things quiet (still early, I guess). It's all little bits of stuff doing the rounds in the industry. There's none of it that I'd hang my hat on right now. The bits I've shared - I thought they were worth sharing, given the source. Chat about Madonna, the Fontaines snippet, chat about Fender.    A gun to my head right now - Madonna would still be my number one bet. More of a gut feeling, but I feel like the recent doubt may be the festival and/or her people trying to calm the noise a bit after the Graham Norton slip, rather than a u-turn.
    • Have settlers people started receiving their car park passes? I was sure I had bought one, but cant find a receipt for it and nothing through the post yet.
