Pukkelpop 2015

I'm sure scheduling has a big part to play but PKP and Glasto have not shared a headliner in the same season for over 10 years (I haven't looked back further than that so it may well be that they've never had the same headliner). There are seven weeks between the two festivals so it's conceivable Kanye could come back to Europe for a run of shows around August. However, there's a definite elevation of status that accompanies a Glastonbury headline slot, especially the coveted Saturday night, which might mean he limits other appearances this summer. He may perceive, for this year anyway, festivals like PKP to be beneath him. Money talks though so if a few festivals can make it worth his while he may get back on a plane.

It would be an amazing coup if they did get him. I'm not a fan but would go and have a look, unless he clashed with Underworld of course!

They could of course not go down the rap Headliner route. They've had 3 in the last 2 years, plus Snoop so maybe they'll give it a rest. Would suit me. I like the genre but Hip hop live doesn't really work in my opinion and especially not on such a vast area as the main stage.

That said, the Kate Tempest and Azaelia Banks albums are fantastic. Both would be a must see for me.

Sean Paul has been announced for a festival in Germany during Pukkelpop weekend.

Maybe he will be the hip-hop big act (maybe subbing) for Pukkelpop 2015??

He has a history with Feest In Het Park, Suikerrock and Lokerse Feesten, let's hope one of those takes him instead. There's really no need for a high spot for him at Pukkelpop.

The guy on the other forum's who claimed to have inside info now said that Netsky and Major Lazer are main stage closers, and Pixies would also make an appearance. On a side note: he's been known to troll a lot as well, yet people who know him seem to treat him as serious on the Pukkelpop board. So no idea how thrustworthy this all is.

Edit: he just mentioned Radiohead...

I believe all of the above but the Radiohead one may be a bit off the mark.

Netsky will definitely close one night and it wouldn't surprise me to see Major Lazer close the whole thing given the way they went down in 2013.

Been saying the Pixies for a while now, very much a pp type band.

I think Robert Plant may head line the Marquee one night as well. Tour dates in France and Germany near to the dates.

I guess we shouldn't dismiss the Radiohead story yet...

The whole forum is treating it as serious information, and not trolling. In addition, he's been saying Radiohead since the end of 2014 now.

But even more convincing: Lowlands organiser already said months ago in an interview that they had a unique and interesting headliner, but that they couldn't announce it yet. Turns out that the headliner will be announced 'very soon'. And since the interview predates the Blur comeback by weeks, it sorta rules them out.

And the last bit: Radiohead played Pukkelpop in 2006 without a new album, being one of the few festival shows they did that year.

Phil selway is playing dates in the summer, can't see him doing his solo dates and Radiohead.

I'm a little bit shocked for what happened to Rock'n'heim.. They probably didn't found headliners for this years edition. And the fact that they changed the weekend maybe means linkin park are busy the weekend before

I´m not shocked for what happened to RNH! This is a consequence of saturated market in germany...you have a lot of festivals...Rock Am Ring/Rock Park, Rockavaria/Grune Hole, Lollapalooza Berlin, Southside/Hurricane, Rock Am See...and so on...by the other side you don´t have a lot of big headliners for all the festivals...look what happened with Sonisphere UK face to Download Festival...

So with the logistics of it you'd imagine that's Linkin Park playing Frequency on the Thursday or Friday and PP on the Friday or Saturday, then onto Germany for the Sunday.

Edit. LP playing Frequency on the Saturday so Thursday or Friday for PP. Hope its the Thursday so they can get the shit bands out of the way first.

Fantastic news about Underworld at Lowlands, its GOT to happen this year at PKP! Also think Father John Misty, Slaves and La Roux are all pretty certain.

Agree about the Green Man line up Jimmy, definitely a few nice Club, Castello and Marquee names there.

Both Sziget and Lowlands have announced no headliners again. For now Robbie Williams and Florence for Sziget (that has to fulfill 7 headlining slots) and The Chemical Brothers for Lowlands. Looking forward to Pukkelpop announcement to find out who's gonna be around except Linkin Park. It's a strange August with very few headliners.

I think that any further headliners will come from band doing the festival circuit in the US in April and May. We shared 2 headliners with Lollapalooza and Sziget had 3 from it as well. last year so I'd imagine that it may be the same this year.

My best guess would be Jack White.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
