Another underwhelming line up. Looks like we're definitely getting Tame Impala, the Offspring, Interpol and probably the Libertines though.

It's anyone's guess who our headliners are now.

Not seen a great line up for this summer, hey I've not seen a line up that looks even good.

Would be happy to see Tame Impala on the line up but not fussed about any of the others. Again, it's another festival in August that has a number of acts that are already confirmed for RW. We're either going to see a lot more overlap than last year or we can discount those bands. I hope it's the latter.

Manchester Orchestra have edited out the PKP date, reckon Chokri has given them a clip round the ear! According to Festileaks, someone called Viet Cong have also self confirmed.

We'll take a lot from this. Definitely Underworld and hopefully the Manics.

That's one of the better line ups this year I think.

Underworld, Manics, Hot Chip, Ride, Django Django, Low, TWOD and Chvrches please Chokri.

Thanks.

Although having said that, I have seen every one of those before, so a few new surprises would also be good.

2014: 28th february was announced that 1st names will come on Monday 10th march

2013: 13th March was announced that 1st names will come on Monday 18th march

If they continue with the same way of proceed the 1st names will come one monday and we will know the date some days before, so I think that next monday we won't get 1st names.

Maybe they are waiting Kanye West to announce his august european tour, maybe they are waiting Blur BST to be sold out... god knows!

It's not unthinkable that they still announce the announcement today or tomorrow and bring us names next week. On the other hand, a longer wait might be good cause it means they won't bring us the same old names we've seen at other August festivals. *end positive mode*

Another theory: can we get Kasabian headlining? I remember 2011: Kasabian played Werchter and then, they were announced fot Pukkelpop (although thyy couldn't play due to the storm)

I agree with Dietediet point of view: if they were going to announce the same headliners that all european festivals, they have no reason to delay the announcement : That was last year scenario: same headliners that ALL european festivals -> early announcement (10 march). So, maybe it's positive if the annoucement get delayed a couple of weeks.

I've seen that Kraftwerk are doing some shows in Holland during the summer... would love to see them again closing the Main Stage.

Would be a "good" booking I suppose, headlined major festivals in the UK, so certainly "big" enough

Not in Belgium I'd say. People are already considering them a weak Werchter sub, so I doubt that they'd both sub RW and headline Pukkelpop. If the two share a big act, I'd put my money on Florence + The Machine.

If they shared an act with RW I'd hope it would be Kasabian or Elbow. Kasabian in particular because in my opinion they can get a crowd going that doesnt necessarily know their songs, which is rare these days.

In terms of headliners. I think most of us are resigned to having Linkin Park as one of them. I still think that at least one of our headliners will come from either the BST gigs - Blur, Strokes, Drake being the most likely or from one of the American/Canadian festivals in May and June so Macca, Jack White, The Pixies or the Kings of Leon.

On the hip hop front, unless we get Kanye West or Drake I think Kendrick Lamar will be as big as hip hop gets for PP this year (hopefully!)

Stromae I think will make an appearance, just from reading just how big he is in Belgium & France and the fact hes not doing RW (so far).

After the recent round of announcements I'm now firmly in the thinking positively camp as theres a hell of a lot of very good medium to big acts around and the worst of the headline material has been ruled out. Pukkelpop could announce the strongest line up (especially undercard) in years from whats available - I hope I'm not getting my hopes up. What I will say is that this years line up will be very 90s I reckon.

Anyway, Ive had a further fiddle and heres my top 40 (or so) predictions all are available (until dietdiet tells me theyre not) and playing this year. and Ive hardly touched the dance line up.

I think we could be looking at any combination of the headliners that are out there this summer, including some of those that have been announced for RW. I'm not hopeful they'll pull a surprise act out of the bag though. The only festival that really has the clout to do that nowadays is Glastonbury - no disrespect to PKP but why would someone 'just' play there or even wait until the middle of March to give them an exclusive announcement (over other festivals they may also play at)? They've done well in recent years to get the likes of Bjork, Iron Maiden and Kraftwerk when they didn't play too many other dates but I think, like last year, we'll get a combination of the headliners that are about this summer. It will largely be quantity over quality/exclusivity in that department.

You've probably nailed a lot of the initial line up there Dave, let's just hope all our personal favourites come in!

Well we are not assuming it's an 100% exclusive act. Pukkelpop can still differ from other European festivals by getting Kanye West (Live Nation leaked a Latvian tour date at the end of July) or Blur (Albarn confirmed that more dates would be added). Pukkelpop indeed doesn't have the capacities to get something really exclusive, but with either of those 2 artists there would be a legitimate reason to delay your announcement.

Theory: what if the organisers are waiting for Blur and said 'early March' assuming that the BST show would sell out quicker than it is doing in reality?

My bet is:

Blur / Linkin Park / Stromae as headliners

Beck / Libertines subbing Thursday and Friday

Major Lazer closing act

Skrillex and Rebel Sound dance act for closing Thursday and Friday

Other bands: Mastodon, Ash, Bad Religion, Ride, Django Django, Tame Impala Dropkick Murphys, Ellie Goulding, Flogging Molly, Interpol, Jamie XX, Kendrick Lamar, Simple Plan, The Gaslight Anthem, The Menzingers, The Wombats, Twenty One Pilots, Tyler The Creator, Seasick Steve, Future Islands, Bastille.

Come on PP, make it happen!

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/music-nightlife-news/paul-mccartney-play-echo-arena-8782315

Today, Paul announces plans to come back to Europe this year for nine special dates in places hes not yet visited with his current tour.

He's not played Belgium in that tour yet. Got to be a strong contender now.

Wasn't arsed about Macca really. Convinced my mate to come to PKP this year so I hope they deliver. Told him the lineup is always great, even if the headline acts aren't all that. No pressure then eh?

I ooh, Black Grape in your list, interesting!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
