He was in pretty good form until a year or so ago - then, wham, a dodgy heart. He was in great form at the pilton party 3 years ago, and a couple of months earlier, at the festival, where he did some book signing.

RIP and thank you Andrew for making this glorious festival what it is today.

I have no doubt there will be a tribute of sorts, Arabella had the bridge and the field named after her didn't she

There's a slight difference tho.

Bella had constant involvement with the festival thru all the years, while Andrew did not. He's only really become re-attached to the festival in recent years, when he's moved back into the area.

Nothing of that is trying to diss Andrew's important contributions, it's merely saying how it was.

...Or pep up the Spirit of 71 stage; that stage was his idea, two or three years ago. Maybe call it Andrew's Spirit of '71. One other great tribute would be if no litter was left behind, but i realise that is asking waay too much for some folk, who don't participate in any way in the spirit of Glastonbury Fayre and the Glastonbury Festival that it became. But I suppose we have to put up with them, cuz the fest is about peace 'n love, 'n stuff.

Maybe a short film shown on the big screens between acts, like they did for Tony Benn this year.

Maybe renaming something like the Leftfield/Tony Benn tower that only addicts like us on the forum would actually pay attention to?

Sad news. I was once camped next to him at Reading, where his kids were in the thick of it and he was camped on the outskirts with a radio and a book, just chilling and providing a 'home base' for the youngsters to come back to periodically. He was really passionate about encouraging festival goers to feedback to organisers, to help encourage change for the better based on people's experience and was telling me how he'd spent some years harassing Reading's organisers to improve toilet provisions, counting hand sanitizer as a great victory. He also made a wicked cup of coffee, was charming and friendly and cleaned up some poo that someone laid by my tent on the Friday night, for saving me from that task I am forever grateful.
