Hey dudes,

Going to RW this year and never been before. Trying to decide whether to drive or fly. Been looking at flights and my cheapest option is to fly into Charleroi, but I understand we'd have to get some trains (bus to S. Charleroi station then a train to Brussel-Noord, before getting one to Leuven). Just wondering if anyone could advise a) how easy this is and B) how much it tends to cost. Been looking online but its a bit chaotic.

Would be very much apreciated!

Where are you coming from? I came from the UK, got the ferry at Hull and it was a super smooth journey from there on out. I wish I'd have driven and brought more stuff as we were pretty short on tolerable alcohol and mixers.

I'm driving from Coventry, we're going down to Dover, ferry to Dunkirk then onto Werchter. We considered flying but we did that when we went to Bilbao BBK Live 2013 and trying to get everything in a rucksack was a nightmare. At least this year we can pack the car full of stuff

I'd be going from Liverpool. Tbh, flying seems pretty tempting. £45 return from Manc

If you are flying to Brussels Charleroi the journey to Leuven is quite smooth but takes about 2.5 hrs if I can remember well. We did this journey when we flew to Charleroi from Malta in 2011. There is a free bus from Charleroi airport to Charleroi train station, then a free train from Charleroi station to Leuven, then another free bus from leuven to Werchter. These free tickets needs to be combined with you festival ticket. In 2011 we arrived at 8.00pm at Charleroi airport and were afraid that we're gonna miss the bus from Leuven to Werchter as we heard that it's till 10.00pm. Therefore we got a taxi from Charleroi airport to Werchter which cost only €18.00 per person and we were there in about an hour.

I go from Liverpool and find the Eurostar to be the best. £66 return(book asap), plus £25 for Lime Street/Euston return( book 12 weeks before travelling) . Door to door its probably 2 hours longer than flying, but no need to worry about bags/weight, and you can take your own food/beers for the journey which saves a few quid as well.

The Prodigy will be headlining https://twitter.com/RockWerchteron Saturday 27th June 2015. More information at /XXMADPSoIj

Retweeted by Rock Werchter. On the official RW site they are placed like The Chemical Brothers, right behind the headliner.

Ahh, ok. I only saw their site and it doesn't say they are headliner there. Thanks for clearing that up :)

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
