BEP got 1h40 running time in 2011. That's a headline set, disguised as a closing party to not piss off as many people.

I'm pretty sure Iron Maiden was announced as a co-headliner. And then, in February if I remember correctly, Black Eyed Peas was announced as closing act....

ah fair I had no idea haha

hi guys

can anyone tell what's the walking distance between the campsites and the fest site?

does the hive much closer than the others?

thanx

I forget which ones are the closest but it's certainly not the hive - it's about a 15/20 minute walk depending on how fast/tired you are :)

The entree of The Hive is not that far (only A1 is closer, mayby also B0 and C2), it takes about 10 minutes. It depends of your spot on The Hive. If you're way in the back of The Hive site it's double as far to walk. The higher the number of campsite/parking, the further the distance.

Is it right that we will definitely get a "ticket countdown" before the combi-tickets are sold out? I'm afraid of it ...

Last year they posted after selling 85% of the overall tickets and the combi tickets sold out a few days after the announcement, so its not like they notify "guys, we got the last 1000 tickets, hurry up!"

Has anybody gone to this festival alone before? I'm thinking about going but still undecided. Is it a hassle not being located on the festival site if your camping?

It isn't any more of a hassle than any other festival I've been to, you aren't technically on the festival site but you aren't far away and the campsites are all for festival goers so it isn't really any different. You get a wrist band for the campsite and a wristband for the festival site, you just show these/scan them as you go between them. We were in the Hive last year and it was just a 10/15 minute walk along a road to get to the festival site. Any festival has a walk between the site and the campsite, with checks etc in place for the arena so it's no different.

Hey guys. This Summer I'll probably be heading out to a couple of festivals. I'm surely going to PinkPop and was also considering heading out to Rock Werchter. The problem is my friend might not be able to make it and I'm not sure if I want to go alone. Has anyone ever gone alone before? How was the experience?

Also, when do Rock Werchter tickets usually get sold out? Do I have still have time?

i dont think you can take an american festival with a HUGE budget as any indication of what we can expect in europe tbh. particularly with bigger acts.

wish we could because acdc would be brilliant. but we know thats not happening :(

i'm starting to think the remaining headliner/headliners will be totally underwhelming

What's keeping me positive is the fact that most major fests around that time still have to announce more than 1 headliner: Roskilde, Glastonbury, Primavera, Open'er, Benicassim, Eurockeennes, Hurricane/Southside, TitP, BBK, Nos Alive, ...

That's making me believe that there's headliner worthy acts waiting to announce their first tour dates.

I agree but I also think that it depands on the ticket sales rate. If this year sales are indeed a record time as they said earlier we should not expect massive headliner/s and subs. I really dont understand it because this year first announcments are not better then the last two years for example.

    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
