List of likely bands for Rock Werchter:

Foo Fighters

Muse

Counting Crows

Coldplay?

Eagles of Death Metal?

Marilyn Manson?

Any others?

Among bands that already announced by other festivals around RW date, I think Alt-j will play and at least one repeat between Interpol & TBK. Rise Against and Incubus played 3 years ago so they are likely too I guess.

Is there any reason for the black keys? I know they've got shows for next summer, but felt the show was really dull! Would definitely watch interpol again, great way to finish the weekend.

Mainly because of the love Rock Werchter has for repeats :) I dont think they were dull but I was expecting more from them. Maybe it was the combination of rain, the anticipation for Pearl Jam and the fact that they were given just one hour.

I agree with this. I couldn't wait until they'd finish....but a big part of that was because I was waiting to get in the front for Pearl Jam :)

But I think we should keep this list alive and updated....

I'd add Slash and Deftones to the list as well, both acts that would fit equally good at Werchter and GMM.

Deftones have accidentally been confirmed for Der Ring when Kiss put the news about the festival on their Facebook page (according to Festileaks).

Primavera Sound in Barcelona hinted at The Strokes being there. So could be doing early summer festivals in Europe. Could possible be a sub or barn headliner? I would be very happy to see them there.

More or less confirmed for Primavera in the mean time.

Would indeed make an awesome sub or Barn headliner. And they've got a lot to make up for (last Belgian gig was 2003, despite being around during RW and Pukkelpop 3-4 times since then).

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
