I am not a badge of honour,
I am not a racist smear,
I am not a fashion statement,
To be worn but once a year,
I am not glorification
Of conflict or of war.
I am not a paper ornament
A token,
I am more.

I am a loving memory,
Of a father or a son,
A permanent reminder
Of each and every one.

I'm paper or enamel
I'm old or shining new,
I'm a way of saying thank you,
To every one of you.

I am a simple poppy
A Reminder to you all,
That courage faith and honour,
Will stand where heroes fall.

Went to see the Tower poppies on Saturday - well I was in London village for a gig and it would have been silly not to.

Then had some lovely Brewdog with many pals before going to see Steve Rothery (Marillion guitarist). A friend of mine sings in a Marillion tribute and he has been invited onto the tour to sing a few old songs the band doesn't do any more. So pleased and proud of him :)

Well they will be in the zone ready for lots of summer festivals after their little tour.......................... Will they make your day LucyG?

I am going to be trying for tickets for this!! TT tickets are almost as hard to get as glastonbury ones. Eek!

I'd love to see them at the festival but its unlikely. Would be great though!

    • I saw this just after it was posted yesterday, I barely paid attention to it. I didn't realise it had blown up in the way it has. I'm sure (kind of) that Sziget will be unaffected - it brings in billions of huf over a very short period. Its consumption, compared to the rest of Budapest, will be tiny in reality. That said, nothing wrong with encouraging people to use less energy whether it's now or in the future.
    • The eulogies are flooding in.   The list I've seen so far is Jenrick,  Hartley-Brewer, Hopkins, Lowe, Pearson   Tells you all you need to know about him...
