I guess there are those for whom festivals are about the freedom to get down and dirty and roll around..not caring about fashion etc is a freedom in itself :)

But it is indeed great! And everyone can find what they want there..

This is all a bit negative!

It's not that bad. Some things have gone south like peacefulness in the stone circle but many many things have improved

Less criminal element - far less crime, noone getting mugged - but fewer drugs and dealers too. Mostly a much more chilled affair

Much more late night stuff to do, some of which has been truly jaw dropping and special - the campsites are quieter in response

Many more people than 2002

A surprising number of clean people. Many more girls. Lots more fashion... They can be ignored

Many more toilets many more urinals which is definitely good

Much more organisation. It used to feel like they pulled it off by the skin of their teeth every year and there were many rough, but charming, edges. It's now like a smoothly oiled machine most of the time

Zillions of chairs. Has it's ups and downs your chair is less likely to be nicked from your camp site, but they are often out in large unbroken groups in the pyramid/other field creating blockages

Flags EVERYWHERE - official ones that is and very very pretty. Campsites also, though less random junk art and campsite installations. A very irritating minority also take flags to the stages and block everyone's view - it's pretty until you realise they're not going to put them down when the act starts

Much better food hygiene and an even wider array of stalls - but no Garlic Kitchen, sorry

Travellers have gone

More Campervan and offsite accommodation (which means older demographic)

Things generally more organised and safer

Leftfield a shadow of its former self

Seems more of a "entertain me" attitude than "we'll entertain ourselves"

Less loud music after midnight

Stone Circle ruined by hissing sounds

More spectacular shows and constructions

open minded glastonbury spirit in full........you maybe right it might be a generation thing....butI bet you also whined at the older members of society `flapping their mouths` at the `younger generation` when you were of that age eh? Im not going to say if its right or wrong because its called freedom of choice...........I certainly wont look down on people for it as you appear to either. Each to their own.

Not enough had been said about The Park. It's brilliant up there. A real Glasto in a Glasto, with loads of bits to it. Like The Rabbit Hole, which has another rabbit hole inside it. Old pianos sat around, so anyone can knock out a tune. A great little main stage, where you can actually *see* the act and have great sound with no time delay effects. Silent Disco, sand sculptures, and loads more

It's ace.

Hang on. 2002? That was the boring one. The year that half the festival forgot to turn up or that was how it felt after the crazy last weekend before the end of the world feel of Bowie's 2000. I'd say it will almost feel like going for the first time again given the time lapse & huge amount of changes. I've not been since '10 and I'm feeling a bit that way myself. And very nice it feels too.

Theres challenging people and theres looking down your nose at people....also a festival where everybody's trying to have a good time isn't the time to start preaching your own lifestyle choices on others

The point of Glastonbury is business for the Eavis family.

I dont think I will learn a thing while there, and frankly Im not looking to.

Just want to see some good music, have a decent drink and some banter with strangers, and forget about my mundane life, reality being its waiting on me post festival, no matter what some stinking hippie says to me.
