It's like some people pride themselves on not thinking because it hurts their brain.

If it was just about making money for Eavis he could make a heck of a lot more than he does- you'll find that when you get there and get a free programme and no beer tokens or arenas.

The bands performing are performing for less than they could charge and so you get a lot more stages and choice than you do.

You'll enjoy the free late night entertainment in the SE corner, all create by the traveller community and their alternative lifestyle. Likewise with the greenfields.

Money raised from tickets will go towards political causes that benefit others.

The whole festival is thanks to a different way of thinking. If you just want to go to a festival to be screwed over for money and not think or encounter a different culture, there is always v festival.

The point of Glastonbury is business for the Eavis family.

I dont think I will learn a thing while there, and frankly Im not looking to.

Just want to see some good music, have a decent drink and some banter with strangers, and forget about my mundane life, reality being its waiting on me post festival, no matter what some stinking hippie says to me.

Klyde and the penguin.

If you read their posts in general, you will see Margaret Thatcher alive and well and looming over them. That's what's changed.

If you read what I wrote instead of jumping off on one, you will see that I didn't actually say that you are Tories, either of you.

I'm talking about the long reach of neo-liberalism/Milton Friedman/Thatcher.

Hang on. 2002? That was the boring one. The year that half the festival forgot to turn up or that was how it felt after the crazy last weekend before the end of the world feel of Bowie's 2000. I'd say it will almost feel like going for the first time again given the time lapse & huge amount of changes. I've not been since '10 and I'm feeling a bit that way myself. And very nice it feels too.

you been stalking me have you? now lets see my most recent contributions have been sticking up for those of us who enjoy a good mosh pit, that makes me a thatcherite how exactly? you know what its people like you who ruin the good time of people at the fesitval.....I come to glastonbury to get away from it all to chill out and have fun with friends in a environment where everyones in the same boat noone judges you and you can just let loose......I actully spend a lot of my time at home campaigning for those causes your probably assuming I dont care about, im a member of cnd a lot of anti facist groups and Ive spent the last couple of months rallying against ukip and the like in the run up to the local elections ........I want to go to glastonbury get away from all and chill out for a few days without stressing about politics or the world at large........ fuck me right that must make me a thatcherite! dont pin your stereotypes on me just because youve seen messages on a forum and want to fling labels at me.....you have no idea who I am or what my morals and attitudes to life are.

Having not been to Glastonbury since the early 90s and going back this year I guess it's going to be utterly different in parts and maybe as I remember in others ,I intend to embrace as much as I can ,shit changes everything does ,I have to .

That's not the same as saying you're a Thatcherite though. Seems to me that he's perceiving in your posts values of individualism rather than collectivism. That's not the same as saying you vote tory, even if it does seem to imply it.

Jefster, you should know better than to invoke Maggie though :P That's this forum's version of Godwin's law!
