I taught Romero how to stop penalties (at Alkmaar)...............We were the club to bring him to Europe. He was a big talent, and someone who has the qualities to do that.

Looking forward to the game today, while not always entertaining the world cup final is the biggest game in football. I think Germany deserve to win the trophy, but am die to win £100 if Argentina do!

Its a fascinating match so far, possibly the best world cup final (admittedly most of them are drab affairs) I can remember. It really looks a 50/50 game at present.

Gutted that Argentina lost, really wanted them to do it (mostly for Messi). But nobody can say that Germany aren't deserving of winning this World Cup. Congrats to them, this could be the dawning of a new era.

Without a shadow the best team of the WC. Was not up for them in the final but can not complain that they won it all. Thank God that Brazil team did not do it. They were dog shit. Smashing WC! A month of great stuff. Bring on the Euros.......

Germany were deserved winners, they had a tough group and according to Tim Vickery were completely screwed from a geographical viewpoint. Despite this they always looked the most balanced side in the tournament. Argentina have also had a very good world cup and made a great final of it. Unfortunately for them fitness problems with their attacking players probably made them fall slightly short.

Goetze has had a pretty poor world cup, but will always be remembered for that great goal. It was worthy of winning a tournament which Im glad didn't go to penalties. I didn't like the Golden glove and golden ball presentations before the main presentation, it was also silly to give it to Messi.

Overall a pretty good final to end a great tournament. For all the positives of the champions league and European championship, the world cup matter so much more.
