As Vickery and Junhinio suggested, hopefully Brazil will get some benefit from this result. The 94 and 02 winning teams suggested a pragmatic approach was the only way forward. I hope we will see Brazil move back towards their roots. A country with their population and footballing traditions will undoubtedly be back

For once shearer is right, for all the shambles of Brazil, Germany have been outstanding. I don't remember seeing a team so clinical. Against most teams Brazil could have got away with it,only 1 or 2 goals behind.

not sure they would have. Brazil's bubble burst when the first goal went in.

The Neymar thing had already knocked the stuffing out of their confidence I'd say. As soon as the first goal went in and so early in the match they knew there wasn't really any coming back.

The goals were great tho - very unselfish play for many of them, where selfish play probably wouldn't have got them those goals.

In thought it was fucking great, much has been said recently about how Brazil simply aren't worthy of their "godlike" statuses any more, they are great footballers for the most part, but they havent played "samba football" for over a decade, they are cheating, diving twats, and reality is crashing in around them.

I would love an all european final.

I have seem lots of team who have had their bubble burst, the opposition doesnt go in for the kill, then something happens that changes the game and they are back in it.

Germany are a mature side, were clinical and took advantage. While the defending was very poor, how many teams have we seen unable to take advantage of poor defending. As you say the unselfish play really stood out, the players had the vision and worked as a complete unit.

I wasn'tt trying to suggest that any team could have taken Brazil apart like that.

A big part of why it happened was because Brazil knew Germany were a strong team - stronger than they were without Neymar.

Despite that, Brazil had hope they still might win at the start. But with a goal going in so early they started to think they were on a hiding to nothing, which made things crumble far faster than they might otherwise have done.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
