They don't really have big acts on William's Green at headliner time. Seems to peak mid-afternoon.

If you're struggling on the Friday night you could do worse than going to see Metronomy.

The English Riviera, as a whole, was the best record IMO. Single tracks though try Heartbreaker, The Look, The Bay, Everything Goes My Way, I'm Aquarius, Radio Ladio, Love Letters are what you would call "the hits".

Sunday is the pits. Post-Plastic Ono Band I'm sunk for anyone I'd even cross the road to see. Massive Attack were great on record but live they're a snooze-fest - and they're the best of the available options.

I like Massive Attack but the idea of ending the festival watching them isn't appealing to me at the moment. I'll be giving them a go though by the looks of things.

It's all a bit *mournful* for me. Blue Lines is great and all, but I don't think it's a performance that will end the weekend with a bang.

I love Massive attack for many many songs, they're a band whose records never fail to move me, but I have absolutely no desire to see them live.

glad to see i'm not the only one uninterested in Massive Attack live. i was starting to think there was something wrong with me in not going to see them but it seems like it may be a common opinion. ending the Sunday of Glastonbury with them just seems like it'd be a dull way to end the festival

When I've seen them live they've been downbeat, somnolent, lethargic and barely there. Trip Hop, benighted genre that it is, rarely translates into compelling live entertainment.

If they pick the right setlist, have the right vocalists and massively turn up the bass it could be brilliant I reckon..

I approached The xx last year in much the same way and they were utterly spellbinding, so I'm willing to give Massive Attack a go, having never seen them and loving most of their discography. As for ending the festival on a bang - isn't that what the south-east corner's for? ^^

Massive Attack 2008 - When I chose another headliner and me to the fella in the next tent, "aren't they a bit dark" in response, "yes they were deliciously dark".

All a matter of taste I guess.

Saturday 'headliner' is the worse 'headliner' clash of the weekend for me. Fortunately I saw Mogwai at Royal Festival Hall earlier this year (for about the 15th time?!) so that frees me up to catch Metallica for the first time, a band I've wanted to see for years.

And I'm happy to be in for the long stretch, looking like R Plant / Lana Del Ray / Jack White / Metallica.

Now Sunday - that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

Can't stand bloody Kasabian.

Don't know where I'll end up yet, but it's no problem - there are another 99 stages to choose from!!

I was very disapointed when I saw the line up. Yes there is much more to the festival but still, if you get bands/artists you really like it makes much more special and would feel the ticket was mega good value. I suppose I look at it differently as the ticket is a lot of money to me and i've only volunteered before so anything is great when it's free. But when I can only see 2 bands I know I like (ish) out of the lot it seems not such a great ticket after all! Music you not heard of can be great but I love the feeling of seeing a band you feel a connection with when you know all the lyrics and you have memories based around those songs. It's such a different feeling and I would severely miss that.
