The queue getting in this year - is it quicker than previous years?

I was in a caravan last year so drove in right next to it (no standing in a queue). I'll be camping this year again.

Queues are pretty awful getting in for camping as normal but has the system inproved and has it got quicker in your experience? How was it last year?

I also I noticed the queues for cars were none existent on the Wednesday afternoon we got there which I was very suprised about.

2014 was our easiest access for years, Wednesday morning joined a short queue at 07:00, through Gate C after 45 mins wait, and at Big Ground by 08:00.

I guess as this gate is close to the campervans, there are less people needing to get in early?

it was much easier than Gates B & D in the previous two years

I'm going on the coach this year for the first time. Leaving London Victoria at 4am so due to arrive at the site at 7am. Does anybody know what the queues will be like at Gate A at that time? Or will it depend on what other coaches have arrived at the same time?

I got of the bus around 12 o clock last year on the Thursday, had myself mentally prepared for a massive que, walked straight in without so much quein for 10 seconds! but i would think Wednesdays are obviously quite larger at the peak times

Assuming that there's no significant delays on the roads, that gates open on time, and that they don't change the queuing system, you'll probably be through the gate really quickly.

Coach travellers get priority at PGA, and not many coaches arrive that early.

Last year I got off a coach at approx 7:45am, found that the gate was already open so walked straight up to it and was inside the festival about 5 minutes later.

I think it's a good idea opening it on a Tuesday, but i think the more successful it is, the more people will turn up, and i feel that's just gonna result in it being closed.

I do it, and i ensure you, it's a bloody miserable few hours! As much as i love Glastonbury, it's by far and away one of my most hated few hours of the year. I come on here, and love the ethos of the whole Glastonbury spirit, and whenever i'm in the queue, i get stuck up 'Daddy's children", who are never up for talking  Maybe one year.

I remember last year getting dead excited as the queue began to move, and we got closer to the massive Pylon, (We came in near the west holts), and as we turned the corner after the Pylon, just saw this MASSIVE zig zag, which just kepts stop starting, i wanted the world to end there and then

Rest assured. we were pitched an hour after we opened, and it was happy days. Went back to the car at about 11, and the queue was gone, so i think it's a matter of just doing the 3-4 hour wait in the queue, and your in. If you're in no real desperation to get in, you can have an couple of hours in bed

Got there just after 8:30am on the Weds last year - minimal queues whilst still in the car, no queue whatsoever at Gate A. We just walked straight in through a long winding zigzag of litter which had clearly previously been the queue but was by that point empty. Easiest entry ever!

We also got straight out on the Monday (Pink Car Park 47) whereas the other half of our group who were in the east car parks took hours. Smug :)

I should add though that we had wanted to camp ig Big Ground and by the time we got over there it was full. Less smug :(

There were no queues whatsoever at Gate D on Wednesday afternoon last year, one of the easiest drives we have ever had in.

However it was pretty obvious from the car parks (we were off the map) and the camp sites that the busiest hours had been long before our arrival and would guess Wednesday am would have been busier
