I suspect if they did it would make them look bad. I don't see how they can call it a "sell out" from October really.

I was thinking it was a marketing ploy to say it had sold out when it hadn't, but then again, if it did really sell out, i can see why based on last years festival.

The truly cynical could suggest that less than the full allocation are released in October.

What i meant was they could have made everyone believe it had sold out when in fact they had held some back purely for the resale. I think it was the latter of my point though and because of last years success it sold out completely on ticket day.

Not true, luck plays a large part in it. I'm sure you've kept posting this mantra since before the first ticket sale, and I always think it must be really annoying for people who didn't get tickets- A lot of long term efest posters didn't get tickets, it wasn't due to them 'not wanting it enough'- see tickets servers weren't reading the hearts and minds of people trying to click on the ticket links you know.

Lots of people I know have put their tickets back into the pot, some reluctantly, some not so. I have a feeling that there may be a decent number to go for. Still think it's gonna sell out within 20 minutes though

Because of the deposit system it's so easy for everyone to put down a 50 quid safety claim and then work out later if they want to go or not - you only lose something like a tenner? With the announcement being made a couple of days after the payment window opened I reckon there's a sizeable chunk of between 5 - 10 thousand open for grabs.

They'll easily sell out in an hour, too.
