The "I may not agree with what you have to say, but i'd die for your right to say it" adage is interesting in this case, 'cause i don't agree with what Farage has to say and he can fuck off and not spout his racist, sexist, homophobic, populist, lacking bullshit at all.

That whole 'fighting for peoples right to say stuff no matter what' stuff is a load of crap though- if he was a committed peadophile, would people admire him and his right to speak out for peadophiles?

Anyways we had this argument last year in the 'right field tent' thread. Right wing people like to delude themselves that glastonbury is neutral and a political free for all, but it's actually left wing. Why would you have right wing tossers at a Leftfield tent, other than to put them in stocks and throw vegetables at. Would I expect to be welcomed to speak at a bnp/ ukip festival? Nope.

This

I may not agree with the political view of the festival but I wouldnt try and force other views on it to try and make it somewhat neutral.

The only thing I will say in this thread though (and Im in no way a supporter of Farrage or UKIP) is that I personally see it wrong to label UKIP as the a kind of new BNP or just push them away as Racist, homophobic, misogynistic idiots like the bumbling idiot of the Liberal democrat party tried to do the other night. UKIP are getting a lot more political attention by the general public, they will do very well next month and have a good chance of getting a fair few seats in the house of commons next year, they have to taken as a genuine political party and not just dismissed like they have been on here.

No, it is the Question time appearance that is being referenced. The BNP's support has all but collapsed following this (with the rise of UKIP taking the little englanders and the EDL taking the thugs).

didnt farage and tony benn have same views on europe?

Nope, utterly different apart from wanting out of it.

Farange wants out of it because the EU does too much for 'workers' and doesn't shovel all the cash into the bank accounts of public-school slimeballs like him (and Cameron, Osborne, Boris, etc).

Benn wanted out because he felt it was too in-bed with business and had/has a large democratic deficit because of its organisational structure.

Benn would be happy to be in within certain conditions. Farange never would be.
