Getting a resale ticket- Tips

So i wasn't lucky enough to get a ticket from the original ticket release and hope to get one in the resale, does anybody have any tips to increase the chance of success?would be a great help to me and whoever else on the forum hoping to get one from the resale!Every little helps!

Stay on this forum as much as possible. Even if you miss out on the main resale, this place will report any subsequent resales in seconds.

Yeah have your details at the ready for when you do get through!

And type like you've never typed before!

Paste all the registration numbers and post codes into notepad so that when you get through you can cut and paste.

Make sure that the postcodes are in exactly the same format as when registered. If there is a gap, keep the gap, if not, then not. That caused us a major panic a couple of years ago.

Be patience and try not to get dishearten straight away, go for coach tickets if possible - as more people seem to be a fan of driving / camper vans etc.

Get as many people trying as possible on different Internets.

Keep an eye out on the forum and Twitter if possible.

And even if you do miss out, there are smaller resales that go unannounced after the main resale.

Remember, it's not a queue you're in and that the browser is merely refreshing once every ten seconds whilst you're 'waiting' to be served. So what I say is... why wait 10 seconds when you can refresh 30 different pages every second ^.^

Leave one that auto refreshes the traditional way just so you can hope you can trick the internet into thinking you're being polite... just in case that's what it wants on that day

Also reducing latency will give you the edge, it's a very small edge but any advantage is a good advantage, so hard wire your computer into your internets via ethernet to just give you that 10 - 30 mili second advantage over all the other fools bashing f5 with their BARBARIC 60ms ping.

Do you reckon we're better off going on separate internet connections? It'll be a group of us and obviously it's easier to co-ordinate if we're all in one room.

I think it is better going for different internet connections. Co-ordinate prior to the resale, that way everyone has the same information. You can only pay for your tickets once with the registration information.

The more people on different ISPs the better I would say!

And luck unfortunately plays a part.

I've said this before elsewhere. I used a laptop via VPN over my ISP link to my work in Leeds, and a chunky tower PC direct via my ISP.

And got through on my work laptop, which must have had loads more latency.

Luck is also a key player - a friend of ours got through using his phone via internet sharing.

Sorry I have no idea how to get tickets.....if only I could highlight a way.....

The key is different internet connections, so share the 3g on your phone to one laptop, have another on your home broadband and another VPN to your work if you can this gives the effect of three different houses trying. Then get all your mates to do the same and once you get above ten different internet connections you stand a good chance.

I also try one of each browser so IE, Chrome, Firefox and Opera on each device, with about four tabs on each browser.

There are also auto refresh plugins to browsers you can use although these can sometimes get through then refresh you back out again so be careful.

A lot of luck does come into it as I could not get through with my laptop what was plugged In with the Ethernet cable but got through with my I phone crazy.

Im going to try logging into my work computer as i imagine the internet connection is pretty fast for 2000 people in this building so on a sunday when noones on it it should be great.

I'll be trying from my home with phones and just try my luck! If not, I'll be looking for the unannounced resales by keeping up to date on here, checking Twitter regularly and by signing up to here: https://www.followthatpage.com/, which I found out about on these Glasto forums, it lets you know whenever a selected site has changed, so whenever the Glasto page changes it lets me know. So whenever there will be unannounced resales happen in theory it should let me know, hopefully in time! In the unannouced resales I'll be in work too hopefully to which the internet is pretty fast so I'll be trying my luck here. Good luck!

On ticket day I had 3 desktops set up in my office all running at the same time with the screens all visible and keyboards set up so I didn't even have to move my head to check them!

Lock in and focus!

If you can do anything similar, do it.

Also having all the details typed and ready to cut and paste is excellent advice.

Screen 1 Number of tickets + registration number & postcode for each person

Screen 2 This will confirm the names & postal address

Screen 3 Email, Long Card Number,Start Date,End Date, Issue Number (if needed) CVV Number & Phone Number

Screen 4 confirms purchase!
