Getting a resale ticket- Tips

Recruit as many friends as possible. Try from different connections for the last 2 years my husband has signed in on his work vpn and we've gotten our tickets on his machine. I always go on the ticket site before it goes live so that it is already in my cache. Press F5 a lot. Be persistent.

My mum got through at home for me while i'm out here in Spain. I was having no luck on my laptop out here strangely i.e. the first page wasn't even loading. Connected through 3G with Data Roaming on, through my iPhone and I was getting through a few more pages then. Someone on here helped me out aswell, she got through to the payment page for me over the phone but then hers crashed.(She had already sorted her tickets) My advice is to have your phone not connected to wifi, trying through mobile data.

The whole 'not giving up' is a big deal I think. I felt disheartened after the first 45 minutes and started to feel like I wasn't going to get a ticket even though it's exactly the same chance as it was 5 minutes before. Just fight it out until the bitter end!!

Definatly use the cut and paste method, saves time and no chance of mis-typing something because you're freaking out. We used a google docs spreadsheet with everyone's details on so whover actually got through could get everyone elses. If you're trying for a group make sure everyone is on the same page, if one persons code is already used it will keep causing an error so make sure one person doesn't have a friend trying for them without telling anyone else. And might seem obvious but make sure there are enough funds in the bank account you are using, its full price not just deposits.

Do you reckon we're better off going on separate internet connections? It'll be a group of us and obviously it's easier to co-ordinate if we're all in one room.

I've got a couple of questions about the resale.

I read that they are selling the coach tickets first. Does anyone know who this works with regards to the coach departure location? I'm assuming that if, say for instance, 2 coach tickets from Brighton were not paid for then there would be two available, right?

So how would this work with selecting them, does it give you a list of places available when ('when', I'm being positive here) you get through to the booking page?

Also, as the coach packages are on sale first would it mean that if 100 coach tickets were not paid for and 1000 non coach tickets that only 100 coach tickets are available or would they make as many available as there was demand for?

Ideally I don't really want a coach ticket, however I'd rather get one of those then nothing at all so will be trying for coach tickets to start with...

I think (hope) the lineup that has been announced will, relatively to previous years, increase our chances in the resale.

People on here will generally be more positive about going to the festival. I imagine the reaction from a lot of the "have paid deposit but not sure if I'll go" types won't be so positive

If you have friends/family in different parts of the country ask them to try too (which us what I'm doing) as there are rumours that some parts of the country have more luck than others
