So, do you consider yourself a Scientist or Pagan? I feel welcome on both threads, even though I don't do any bumping. It's nice to be able to have a thread for any old bobbins. It's not a weather thread IMHO, much more like campfire chat.

There was always a campfire thread, in fact if you look the most popular thread ever was a campfire thread.

NFR NFC is the campfire thread of 2014, but more important obviously.

Basically it is people - actual grown adults, not children - who spend their days on this board posting 'NFR NFC' endlessly under the delusion that the result of said posts will mean the sun shines at the festival.

Actually, there is discussion about our lives, our likes and our hates. People have gone through and shared medical issues, employment issues and the occasional hangover. Firm friendships have been made. Poetry has been written.

Basically it is people - actual grown adults - having personal relationships with other people rather than just using internet forums as an excuse to be snidey.

Been on these forums for quite a few years now and have always enjoyed the build up on this thread, unfortunately not this year as part of the other thread and really don't feel welcome this year.

I hope this will not be a sign of how the festival will become, really hate hostility and the them and us, in my opinion there is nothing better than the random encounters you get with people once on site.

Let's hope 2015 will be back to normal and happiness will come back.

Noone is expecting you to 'stay out of this thread' or whatever bollocks that is - all that has been asked is that the NFRNFC people don't flood this thread. There are patches where there is ONE on topic post to TEN silly posts - the good information is lost in the crap

Get a grip, come in, enjoy yourself, just respect that this isn't the completely silly thread and everyone can get on wonderfully. If a few people insist that every thread is sillysillysilly then THEY will be making the issue, noone insists that every thread is seriousseriousserious

I think now the vast majority of the 'hostility' is the NFRNFC crew 'joking' about how 'hostile' we are. It's just become part of their fun - it's kids ringing doorbells and running away which is fine as long as they're not doing it so much that noone gets dinner.

We were asked to go elsewhere, we have. We'll welcome any of that silliness over there if others want to join us but it's not the NFRNFC regulars who have posted the silliness in this thread.

The posting of Germans got out of hand in 2010 and that was stopped too - there's a limit to everything - don't feel you're being victimised.

It's the lack of variety in the silly that drives people nuts I think. Not every post needs quoting with "Hah forecasters know nothing NFRNFC" after it - we'd put it in our signatures if we wanted that. A variety of silly and I doubt anyone would have ever raised an eyebrow

Fair point, although the photos of Germans etc are posted by a certain few that join in with this thread a week or so before the festival. And I find all that just as irritating as well! In fact I think pics started getting removed by Neil in years gone by.

I enjoy reading both threads but only really partake in this one so I have an actual idea of what's going on with the weather I have never seen people get so hot and bothered about weather forums! The NFR NFC thread is just a bit of fun, as is this thread and both of them want the same thing. Childish fighting really.
