It's not even a science vs NFR issue. The majority of people, if going away, will check a weather forecast. If that's a good one, they'll believe it. If it shows rain, they'll check another and another and another until they find the best one. And that's the one they'll tell their friends/family about.

NFR NFC is about not checking the forecasts at all as they are irrelevant. We aall know it's gonna be non-stop sunshine cos I was on holiday in SW Wales in the rain last week and that's my sacrifice. It's so obvious, I dunno how the met office has the cheek to charge for its services.

Another Sunday, another Netweather J1 prediction due this afternoon. Nice start to the day in Somerset - so much so we're selling old crap off at a car boot. Heres hoping we get a more settled week.

The bbc weather website is nearly always wrong all year round- even on the actual day.

Things seem to be shaping up nicely for this hotly anticipated j1 blog. It could be a game changer. There's been a lot of excitement in the crowd, people getting down to the forum early to be amongst the wonderful atmosphere.

Generally signs seem to point to the jet stream moving north and us being more high-pressure dominated

But there's plenty of time to go and the festival period isn't even within range yet. Nonetheless it's good that there's no sign of the southerly collapse already
