I remember hearing in years past that Prince doesn't announce festival shows until 6 weeks before the festival - could this be the 'contractual obligation' in question? Assuming, of course, that that is even a thing and not just an urban myth.

If it IS Prince on Pyramid with Metallica on the Other: "please don't clash with Metallica".

And as a sidenote, I'd expect Metallica would be happy to headline Other Stage at Glasto, on the basis that it's Glasto.

Look, Metallica are playing. They might headline the Other Stage and not Pyramid, but that's the limit of movement for them.

There's that 'might' just because the offer to Prince remains open, and he might come back and say 'yes' (tho it's not too likely by the sounds of things).

It's not "announce" it's "agree to play" until around 6 weeks before.

There can only be a contractual obligation if there's a contract in place. I 100% guarantee that no contract was in place with Prince at the time of the announcement (and emily saying about a "contractual obligation").

You just don't get it do you metalicbear, metallica want to play glasto. They will play glasto and it will be this year be it on the pyramid or other stage. As someone else has said if you're that confident put your money where your mouth is. I'm confident enough in what Neil has established on this site to believe that they are playing glasto.
