Oh I see, so what you're saying is that we can tell people what we don't like without influencing their opinion, but we can't tell them what we do like? :P

there's discussions, and then there's starting a discussion to lead people by the nose. :)

It's quite easy to cut your way thru marketing bollocks you know. What's such a damned shame for this country is that so very few people do.

Ha! This isnt that god-forsaken testo-charged "Footie" Thread Neil. Youve taught me heaps about music over the years. I know the boundaries at this stage.

But I don't actually recall your impression of him pre/post show. So I wasnt referring to you. Stand down Sir.

but you were implying that he was universally thought of as excellent.

What I saw of it wasn't that (tho I didn't see that much of it - precisely because it wasn't that).

Not bothered in the slightest. I might check him out dependent what else is on, but it's definitely not a 'must see'.

Perhaps part of that is driven by the fact that it was mainly people with little musical taste that liked Prince in the 80s which causes me to want to swerve him.

(think that's wrong TonyB? Then just look at the other artists who were big in 1985 like Prince, and feel free to point out those who are worthy of mention ... not a lot, not a lot at all!! There's a reason why! Music in the 80s was shite and that included Prince ... it's only popular now cos music now is even worse).

But he's expressed a dislike in the past about the festival due to his idiotic belief they were using his name to sell tickets. Can't see him being evasive about this one.

You also thought Stevie was sloppy, which, to anyone with functioning ears, is hilarious

Or alternatively, I think anyone who thinks their experience is also everyone else's is a bit of an arse.

We've been thru this before. I was stood in a different place to you, so you cannot possibly know how it sounded to me.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
