It does seem seen dickish thing to do though, even when you take into account "artistic control". The people who download or host these bootlegs are going to be his biggest fans who own everything he's ever done and he's basically now shat on them all from a great height the tosser.

Some sort of cease and desist I could understand, but suing them for hundreds of thousands of dollars is a little hard to stomach.

Whether money is an issue or not, I'd have thought the fact that some of it is grainy, bad quality footage is at least partly the reason. Why shouldn't he, or any artist, have a say in what is 'released'?

I agree entirely with artists retaining control over their material. But this is just massive overkill attacking the wrong targets.

I'd be careful with reselling tickets, I wouldn't be surprised if Prince has some sort of policy in place to prevent that sort of thing.

Needless to say I'll be trying for whatever dates/places they are.
