I'd say it's more likely to happen in 2014, than 2015.... You don't see many bands who have released an album, skip a summer to headline festivals, wait for the album to potentially wane in popularity, then headline/play do you,

I'm sure most people will be able to tell me some excellent examples, but you know what? I can't seem to think of any, at the minute.

Meh, I've seen them twice before, both times being given spare tickets from friends. They're a decent enough live act, but I wouldn't rush to see them unless there was nothing else of my fancying on.

One thing I would say is that for me on a personal note, Arcade Fire/Kasabian headers would be pretty disappointing as have no interest in either. If it is those two, lets hope header number three is a real biggy!

yeah to be honest, what with Fleetwood Mac and Depeche Mode both seeming to be nailed on and then swept away just as fast i wouldn't be surprised if Eavis' earlier comments are now meaningless. i'm just holding on to any hope that they won't be headlining :P although if they do headline and say, The Pixies are opposite them on Other, then that'll suit me down to the ground!

I know Kasabian are pretty huge, and they've headlined other festivals, but I genuinely think they'll play second from top under somebody HUGE. People saying they're in the same mould as Monkeys, I can see why you'd say it, but you can still buy tickets in bulk for their homecoming summer gig, their appeal isn't what it was. With Monkeys' two gigs at Finsbury Park, one sold out in less than 15 minutes and the other sold out before the day was over.

I think I've seen kasabian about five times without ever buying a ticket to a kasabian gig. They've been everywhere and anywhere for the past four years and anyone who is into festivals a lot would have struggled to avoid them. They are good live and I'm not a fan really but as a headliner they would do nothing for me.

    • Solid list...  but i must ask?  are you excluding Lime Garden & Tomora as you didn't like them or is it that you havent listened to them?
    • It was Brooklyn last year, and I seem to remember a Guinness tent
    • That leaker off Instagram was saying earlier this year that Nickelback are doing a tour with Broco and Wargasm, but no evidence as yet
    • Gojira are unoficially confirmed by the organisation at Hellfest since last December already.   Slayer was supposed to be this year as a Mainstage 2 headliner at the place of Volbeat for a thrash day but negotiations fell off. Very likely to be there next year.    MCR I didn't know about but it fits well with Hellfest's desire to keep one day as more punk/rock orientated.    Europe are a confirmed headliner for Sweden Rock 2027. They will not headline HF but we may seem them on the bill. I am very curious who will be the legacy bands next year at HF. There was some backlash after 2025 and a bit of a return to heavier metal on the bill in 2026 - e.g. Gatekeeper on the main stage. The only considerable legacy acts I see coming (if they are in Europe) and haven't been at HF for a while are Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Slash, FFDP (if you count them as legacy), ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I really hope they manage to pull sth big for the 20th anniversary like AC/DC.
