Catchy tunes is all? Like saying Messi can kick a ball about a bit.

What the hell is pop if not catchy tunes?

We are talking about the same Michael Jackson right?

Pretty much everyone mentioned on the first page of the Efest Glastonbury chat forum at the moment.

And yeah, it's not hatred, it's a shrug and ambivalence. Obviously some of these bands are good, whatever that means. I'd be a fool to describe them as 'shit' (excluding the Eagles) but they fail to move or excite me in any way.

It is patronising to say to someone they don't get an artist (as only they know why they don't like an act) but most people probably have artists they feel like they don't get and, as people have said, that is different from artists they dislike.

I don't like one direction because their music has almost nothing in common with most music i do like... and most of my friends with similiar taste would agree. I don't entirely get led zep or floyd because although i like the rough genres of their music, many of their contemporaries and artists that adore/have been influenced by them i personally don't get as excited by them as others seem to.

I've not read the last couple of pages, has it got to the point where every musical act ever to exist has been called shit by somebody somewhere along the way? I think we were close around page 6.

Actually, I've been thinking about this, there's some bands mentioned on here that I love(d) but have absolutely no interest in seeing these days. Massive Attack and the Pixies, for example.

Huge part of my life, their songs are stamped through me like a stick of rock, I'll jump round like a c**t if they come on the radio, but I'd not go and see them if they played outside my house in 2014.

Elvis is great at singing other peoples songs, live and on record. Good on him, would love to have seen him and I listen to his records quite frequently.

Nick Cave is great at singing songs that he sat down and wrote himself.

It seems a strange comparison to make to me though. Wouldn't you be better off comparing Elvis with someone else who doesnt write their own stuff?

Allow me:

"Britney Spears, eat every morsel of your beating heart out".

There, now doesnt that make more sense now?

    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?
