Loyalty Scheme or over the counter tickets

Hi just wondering what people views are on some kind of loyalty scheme for people who have been many times, was unfortunate to get tickets this year

.i remember back in the 90s you could get tickets over the counter do you think this could work as long as you were registered etc

Pointless to even discuss this as they aren't going to change the way tickets are sold just because some people think they have more of a right to a ticket because they have been before. How would you like a system where people who haven't been get priority? You've had your turn.

It's not something Eavis will go for (and quite rightly, IMO).

The festival is not an exclusive club of those who have been before.

not so long ago, people would camp outside ticket shops for a couple of days for t in the bleedin' park tickets. such a thing for glasto would be carnage.

There was a Radio 1 documentary just after the 2005 ticket chaos where Michael suggested maybe introducing a system where people could only go 5 times. I don't think it was a serious suggestion, but it indicates his thinking on the matter.

I would have thought something would've been in place for a loyalty scheme, maybe buying tickets straight after it finishes for the next year but I guess demand is too high and no one else would ever get the chance to go!

obviously I didn't mean 100,000 tickets in one location but at various cities/towns

I didnt mean I get priority either but as innerspeaker says you get the opportunity to get early bird ticket if you've been that year like other festivals do.

Certainly works for a number of other festivals with the various 'early bird' type deals.. and the selfish person in me would love to be able to buy a 'return ticket' even whilst at the festy. Sadly (well... probably not) there's too many want to come and the natural selection Darwinistic model seems to work well enough for most fanatics and folks in general. It would be an amusing paradox though if there was a really long queue inside the festy to get tickets for the next festy.. especially if it lasted the whole festy in a weird twisted loop of some kind.

A loyalty scheme is a terrible idea - just because you've been for X years gives you no more of a right to go than the person who's going to discover the magic for the first time

Hey, I've been for 13 straight Glasto's in a row (and next year will be 14) so would expect a 'loyalty scheme' to be in my favour......

but even with that 'pedigree' I think it's a really awful idea.

I like the current scheme, so long as they don't up the server capacity such that it sells out in 10 - 15 mins. I like to think that perserverence during a 60 min time slot or so may pay off, rather than a 'blink and you've missed it' system.

I missed out last year on T-DAY. This year when the call came through from my mate "you are going to Glastonbury" the buzz is hard to describe.

Why give that up? Even getting a ticket is an experience!

The only kind of loyalty thing I can see them doing is maybe a presale for people who went last year and "left no trace"... Stewards could hand out tokens with presale codes to those who take all their rubbish with them.
