Bereft....

First time I haven't got tickets in...11 years I think? Yonks anyway. I am bereft. I am full to the brim with woe. I am trying to think positive life affirming thoughts, and also keep it all relative (this is not a tragedy! the situation in Syria is a tragedy!), but I still feel s***.

2004 - 24 hours of trying (up all night and then with everyone in the office at work helping the next day) - didn't get a ticket.

Then the local radio mentioned a resale while I was driving home, 20 minutes later I had my ticket.

Are there resales other than the cancellations?

I'm actually in bits, i know its not the end of the world but this was to be our honeymoon and my future husbands first Glastonbury. I can't believer it. I'm going to be late for work because I need to calm down before I go anywhere. Worst.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be way more efesters than normal who appear to have failed this year...?

Bad luck to everyone that didn't get through. If its any consolation I've tried in resales for people over the last 5 years and have been successful every time. There's still hope.

I know - but hope is a cruel thing ;-). I'd be happy to work - I'm an old lady now past my partying prime so 6am litter picking starts don't bother me at all - but from what I can gather from years on this board, worker spots are hugely over subscribed...?

We're gutted here too. 5 of us planned to return after a bad year last year but we werent sure if we could go so weren't planning on buying- had a dream last night and woke up at 9 and bolted down and tried- had the phone on constant redial and it rang out 3 times but other than that, didn't get close.

In 2011, I failed in the October sale, I failed in the April resale and I failed in the small May resale.

I then entered every competition I could and won a pair of tickets three weeks before the festival started.

It's not the ideal way of getting them but that feeling when you finally do get them is second to none. Keep plugging away when you get any opportunity!

I got mine in the resale in spring.

I even had to go back because the post code on my reg was wrong so had loads of time. Also not as much people try for tickets in the resale so it's deffo worth trying.

i think the reason we all feel so crap is basically this modern internet age. We all now think at a click of a button we can get anything we desire and when it does not happen we just cannot compute it. Its like some people are not even getting anywhere near it. I last got tickets on the phone 10 years ago! In 1992 i queued overnight in the rain for U2 tickets at Earls Court i wonder how many people that have tickets today would be prepared to do that for Glasto....maybe it should be an option..all those people that say if you want to go enough you will, is infuriating - well ill volunteer if i can find a company that will let me bring my kids on the pass (i believe some do)
