Apologies if this has already been posted - I am nervous enough about tickets this year (had a really rubbish last few months) and this has added to my nervousness

Some 'interesting'points in the article though that say it doesn't matter about the speed of your broadband, it's about the geographical spread of people applying - can they really do that ?

If yes I am moving to somewhere really remote for the weekend so I have a unique postcode or somehow I show as being in a remote location ;-)

Can someone techie please explain if this is possible ? thanks

Do they mean 1 million new registrations since the last festival, or 1 million people registered in total. If it is the former then that's completely mad.

... If they mean the latter when its still mad but less so - I wonder how many of those registrations are older ones who might not try for tickets this year

my brother phoned me up last year, after about half an hour saying

"I don't know what to do, I can't get through"...

"errr... keep trying"..

"but I am trying and I can't get through, I think I'll knock it on the head, it's too difficult"

"what, pressing F5?"

"Having fast or slow broadband does not affect people's chances of getting a ticket. The chances of success are equal."

so someone on a slow connection, that manages one request every 10/20 seconds or so has as good a chance as someone with a fast one, who might be effectively getting through every couple of seconds??

As ever, I have trouble believing those quoted numbers.

If that many people were in the sale year after year then most of us wouldn't succeed in getting tickets year after year.

    • 1. Baby Dave - Billy 2. A - Prang   Not really got round to listening to many more in May so not really fair to vote but shoutout to EPs from Bleech 9:3 - Bleech 9:3 & Villanelle - Measly Means
    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
