Very excited to see American Football as an SR. If they're put on the same day as Maccabees or Metallica I'd consider breaking the bank for a day ticket. Where would they best fit? It's tricky one to tell?

Edit: Please can no one repeat the 'They've already played Wembley so they must headline' joke, it wasn't all that great the first time.

I had a day ticket in 2012 and there was very little actually preventing me from staying in the campsite that evening

Aye. They way Leeds is laid out (Dunno about Reading) you could technically buy 3 day tickets and just stay on the camping premises at night if you wanted to.

I reckon they could play mid NME or high FR/Lock-Up personally, they are difficult to place

Excluding the last 2 years I'd have put them mid NME, but I can't see them fitting the younger audience that stage seems to be *moving towards*, there wasn't really any comparable NME bookings last year, but that doesn't necessarily rule them out.

FR headliner with the stage closing early would be my preference, but it is very hard to guess. The way the non NME/Main bands are normally announced on announcement days suggests we might have to wait a while to see.

Edit: *Aiming almost exclusively for* - Would be a better way of putting this

"This tent is just for a mate, i swear"

Sleep in the car. Parking's free. As long as you can stay beyond the headliners and do silent disco, stage in the woods, picadilly etc.

Depending on the lineup I might just do 2 days, stay at my mates the other day cos they'll be doing the same as me. If it's good enough though I'll buy a weekend ticket, have a base in the festival and possibly pop back to their houses for a shower or a comfortable nights sleep on say Friday/saturday night to come back refreshed for the rest of the week/weekend...

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
