Oh I just looked and it's a 'next wave of acts' as well.

Also check the day tickets price.

Wait what? From 80 down to 59.50?

Remember when Download's ticket prices went down it was them foreshadowing that it was gonna be a substandard year (lineup wise).

I don't think the lineup so far indicates it's gonna be substandard per se, maybe not to our tastes. Especially not for £59.50, that's probably round about the price it'd be to see any of the 3 headliners alone.

Was just about to comment this, although people may dislike some of the acts announced I can't see how Metallica / Mumford / Royal Blood / Jamie T / Catfish / Deadmau5 are unpopular bookings for the majoirty of R&L goers? I don't see a huge gap in quality from this time last year to up until this point announcement wise.

Aye, although I thought the last announcement was utter rubbish, there's still more to tempt me this year than there was by this time last year.

I'd only need 5 or so more solid bookings to tempt me in.

Oh you guys were being serious discussing the price drop?

I said it must be an error, I was just responding to Matt saying that it would mean the lineup would be rubbish - the acts announced so far don't indicate a £59 a day standard of lineup.

I wish there was a main stage headliner worth going for now. But my interest is piqued as there's usually at least one day full of acts I'd be interested in seeing but one or two let down days.

I'm definitely more tempted to just get a day ticket for Metallica's day at that price, especially if that day is the best for me personally. £60-70 almost seems like a bargain.

Probably couldn't have said "day" any more times there.

So day ticnets take a price cut, with no change in weekend?

The only reasoning they've given on twitter is that 'weekend includes camping".. Hardly justifies not reducing the price though..

It's the Libertines announced on Tuesday isnt it?.. Too much to hope that they mihgt just sub and be happy with it..

Lubertines are alright,.but they're hardly 'world renowned' as it states in the release..

Well for £65 I could see Metallica's day going quickly considering a lot of their fans aren't likely to be fucked about the rest of the lineup and I imagine that's about the price of a Metallica ticket. That day's probably the best hope I would have of persuading mates to go as well.

I could see all the days going quickly actually, Metallica and Libs especially, but also Mumfords if the main stage ends up being geared towards their type of fans eg Mumford/Ben Howard/Bastille.

    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
    • Proper loser behaviour wearing a tee like that. Me and my mate play a game every year called ‘Boomer Tees’ and there’s some gems every time.
