Wow, does this mean that all the big announcements are done and we're into the minor bands? That to me would mean this could end up the weakest RW in the 8 years i've known it.

Loving Dropkick Murphy's at least but they are sort of a jump about in the afternoon / early evening kind of band.

Of course there are still some good and big names to come. Last year, they announced Nick Cave, The National and Frank Ocean at the end of March...

Those big quality names are the most difficult ones to book. In fact, they are already booked but Werchter is still negociating with other festivals in the same weekend (Les Eurockennees, Roskilde) about who's going to play where on wich day.

Smaller, less quality names (passenger, imagine dragons) are much easier to book and to plan, and that's why they're announced early.

Eurgh, I was genuinely all ready to buy my ticket this friday but this announcement isn't great for me - only really like The Naked And Famous out of all those and even then they're not a band that entices me to go any more.

Give us Jack White/Biffy PLEASE!! :P

Metronomy is a nice surprise. The Naked and Famous is also one of the bands I was hoping for. Imagine & Dropkick I don't know, if there's not a good thing around, can be watched.

Still and must to come:

Beck, Interpol, Massive Attack, Röyksopp, Kasabian, The National, Foals as headliner for other stages and support bands in the evenings..

Chvrches, Haim, London Grammar, Miles Kane, Kodaline, Jake Bugg, The 1975, Warpaint, Geore Ezra as taking the festival for a high level.

I'm satisfied but there should be bigger names to make it better.

I came to RW in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. I thought that 40th anniversary would oblige them to do something spectacular so I booked plane tickets WAAAYYY in advance just to get to Belgium on a cheap way. December announcements were great but what's happening now is TRAGIC. Where are the liine-ups of 2009 and 2012, where one started the fun at noon and wouldn't stop until the end ?

So far this is becoming POP Werchter. Only 3 out of 12 bands announced this month have anything to do with rock in my understanding. And KoL are way overrated.

Maybe it's a sign of the times and all the whingers (me included) are stuck in old school. I am looking forward to more announcements before making a decision, there is still a very good chance we may go this year but at the moment 4 full days when i am only really seeing 2 that do it for me properly, are difficult to justify.

I will also look around to UK fests this year to see what's going on - maybe it's time to go wild and hop on something else :) The ones announced to me in the last couple of news on initial listen are very similar - very much emotional "slow pop" with a notable absence of guitars (Drop Kick Murphy's aside). I like rock and a bit of oumph otherwise i just fall asleep in the heat. Fingers crossed for more announcements soon.

Need ticket help/reassurance:

I tried to pay with my Maestro card earlier and the payment wouldn't go through so I clicked off the tab and started again so I could use my Mastercard instead. The Mastercard worked fine and they have e-mailed me the etickets and everything. Now I just got an e-mail from teleticketservice saying they haven't received the payment and my booking will be cancelled if I don't pay by 8PM.

Am I right in assuming this is referring to the booking I exited because it wouldn't take my maestro and the booking which I've already received the etickets for is fine and has been processed? (Surely they wouldn't send me the tickets before my payment had gone through).

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
