I think the album itself will go down well but I've got mixed feelings on it. If you've spent money on all 3 EP's, it's kinda of a cop out move. But luckily I haven't spent money on them, and I really like the majority of the tracks. So I will be getting the album when it comes out. I relaly hope they're announced for Glasto, i'll be gutted if they don't play.

I think the reasoning behind releasing the album is probably that the EP's didn't sell well, seeing as they apparently didn't intend on releasing an album. I know some people didn't warm to the EP's so maybe the album will make it flow better for some, I do think they're good tracks and they sound even better live. I do hope they play but I think I'll try go to Field Day as well, the Sunday line up is too damn good to miss.

i thought the EP's were gonna lead up to an album, which would maybe contain a couple of songs from each of them and then some brand new ones, but for it to just be three EPs stuck together seems like a bit of a cop out

Well, they aren't shit, just forgettable and unremarkable, which makes them pretty pointless. I'm not against Pixies releasing new stuff, I was very excited after hearing Bagboy, but most of the new stuff is just them trying to be Pixes 20 years later, with unspectacular results.
