Same here (for all our group). Pearl Jam aside the rumours aren't exciting people & after R&L coming out the blocks this year with a much more 'Download' friendly line-up all my mates want to wait to see who they're bringing for 2014 before making a commitment.

If Luckysalt is right & we're looking at A7X, Van Halen & Aerosmith for Download then I'd guess R&L must have snagged Pearl Jam. I expect Metallica to be at R&L next year too.

This year is the first for for 7 years that i have held back from buying a ticket and am waiting for

Maybe because i have seen everybody i want to see or maybe i'm just apathetic and need a glimmer of hope before i commit my 200+ notes.

Sound, toilets, food choice, layout, LINE UP, camping, campervan site, village and ATTENDEES. It falls down on river crossings and lake dancing though. There are also more stages at L/R but most of them have shite on. To be honest, the Download style bands were poorly attended too apart from Biffy and System so I can't see them getting a heavier line up in 2014. NIN and Deftones were embarrassingly empty outside the golden circle. It was pishing down though.

Green/brpwn/campervan at Leeds is just as far as Download campsites. Leeds has bands on on Thursday so if you want to go Wed you have to pay Early Entry. I don't understand the rest, sorry.

Parking difference is trivial and campervans are same price. Campervan/family/RIP camping walk distances are in single figures of minutes. In theory, this year at least, you could have got from camper van to main barrier in about 1 minute at a dawdle.

All irrelevant though, it's all about line up and despite the Leeds/Reading effort this year with SOAD etc, Download is miles better unless you like indie and pop. Given your rave reviews of T this year you must be a right X factor junkie.

Your bottom line is exactly why your comment about me talking bollocks is irrelevant. I suddenly don't like heavier music so I'm an x factor junkie? WTF? So when all the Editors, Bloc Party, The Killers, The Raconteurs, The Strokes, Pulp, Arctics, The Prodigy, Vampire Weekend, We Are Scientists - strangely all the bands around at the time I was R&L main age I liked makes me an x factor junkie?

Why the hell would you camp in green or brown? and green in nowhere near you fool don't be silly. Don't tell a 7 time goer about Leeds after being a 1 time goer.

I didn't see one x factor act. Twin Atlantic, The Killers, Chvrches, Jake Bugg, C&S, Mumford & Sons, Travis, Texas etc. Yeah they aren't heavy blah blah blah - they don't have to be to be able to like music - I like you believe they do.

What you should have said is unless you like indie/indie pop and there is still rock there unless your describing Green Day, SOAD, BMTH, Deftones etc as indie pop? You are a bit of an idiot here dude. What you should admit is what I did that lineup depends on what you like, like you should admit that rock isn't what it is everytime you complaint that T isn't booking as much anymore and that isn't still as relevant as nowadays poppier stuff. I think you're still stuck in the days where rock was big in 2008.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
