Huh, it had been reported by quite a few places, but I guess that may have just been others nicking the original report.

It's probably newspaper bullshit, tho I don't discount the possibility of Chelsea telling porkies. I was just passing on what the official line was.

I doubt it - their 2nd half season form was dreadful, and kenny got the push, remember?

I do remember saying that their inability to put the ball in net probably wouldn't be repeated in the season that followed (the one just gone) and so it proved!

Like I say, it's not based on only form, but on a change of personal, and a definite improvement (I don't think there's anyone would argue that it wasn't an improvement) in that department.

People say "ABC have just bought player XYZ so they'll be better" - and that may or may not happen; but few would doubt that's a perfectly reasonable idea.

I'm saying that LFC bought 2 definitely-decent players and it DID improve them. The results show it in just about anyway you care to look at them.

I'm hardly saying anything nuts.

The way I see it is that next season Liverpool will be in a league of their own. Quite a way behind last years top 5 and quite a way in front of the remaining 14.

Liverpool are at least 4 top top quality players away from the top 4. Just can't see Liverpool 1) spending the money required to get those 4 players, and 2) even of they're willing to, attracting that calibre of player to a club a long way behind the rest.

The second paragraph I agree completely with and you put it far better than I could. As for the first paragraph I certainly see Liverpool comfortably behind last years top 4. I think its too early to judge spurs, Will Bale leave and if so what quality can they attract? Who will spurs buy as a forward as last years attacking line up was not up to the job.

Stoke get a lot of crap thrown at them, some deserved and some not in my opinion. However they should be fully commended for a move like this. With football clubs getting richer it would be a great gesture for the other 19 clubs to follow suit and put some of the profits back into those who support them. I wont hold my breath!

As a Newcastle fan I'm getting very worried for the coming season. It seems the club are making out like they are in for loads of players to make it seem like they tried but aren't getting anybody.

Initially I wasn't interested in Bent and Remy but if they don't sign those guys the forward line could be Shola on his own against Man City!

    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?
