I think way too many conclusions are being drawn from the confederations cup. e Im not convinced spain have put as much into this tournament as they would a major tournament, so talk about a changing of guard is a bit premature.

I also think this idea that Brazil have just become contenders is silly. They haven't lost a competitive game at home for nearly 40 years and not lost a home friendly for a long time. They may not have their best ever squad but home advantage is huge. They didn't need to win this tournament to be serious contenders for next year.

A lot of chatter this last week Kinnear is looking at Matt Taylor.

Amazed but happy if true.

Also looks as though the rumours Allardyce had been looking at Bony were true. Vitesse have stated we've made an offer. Again, would be surprised if it happens.

I see it is beleived to be three former directors who are unable to accept the terms of a resue package

yeah, brilliant isn't it? They fuck up the club, and then cause its extinction by their demands.

And yet the same fuckers have no doubt made a packet as directors over the years, because for many years the club was playing in tiny leagues with low-grade players whilst still getting League Two sized crowds.

Jonjo off to Swansea. Maybe I did hype him up a bit, but I think he can do really well at somewhere like Swansea. Probably best for all parties as he fell behind Henderson towards end of season and with Alberto and Coutinho coming in his chances would be limited.

Definitely got some potential there, up to him to prove he can fulfil it now and put to to bed questions about his attitude,

So Perch has gone to Wigan for an undisclosed fee, estimated at just under £1m.

Good signing for them, probably just about enough incoming from our perspective. Reliable player but with a year left on his contract, Sissoko and Anita coming through and Tiote looking likely to stay it makes sense. Best of luck to him.

    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
