arcadia line up when ?

Roughly correct; there will also be some small side shows earlier - I think the timing may coincide with the changeover on the Other Stage. One of the things is new for Glastonbury, so worth a look if one is over that way.

I was hoping they would make a big song and dance about arcadia this year to attract as many as possible away from the SE corner, however they don't seem to be doing this.

Doesn't make much sense to me as at the moment many casual festival goers (i.e those not glued to this board) probably wouldnt even know its moved, let alone be attracted to go anywhere else than the SE corner.

I thought the whole point of moving it was so that they could spread the late night crowds better, i don't see how not confirming artists and pushing it in such a manner will help really.

Looks like sheep being herded to SE corner again this year, something which i was hoping would be less of an issue.

True, they also have it set up in a circular pattern projecting inwards, this means effectively if you get the phasing right the sound waves cancel each other out as soon as you move outside the circle. Projects far less than a Line array from one of the main stages.

I remember at bestval standing right behind one of the stacks and it was quiet enough to have a normal conversation, move into the circle and it as massively loud. Only thing is I guess if the crowd is big not everyone can be in the circle.

I read somewhere on this forum that Funktion One weren't supplying the speakers @ Glastonbury anymore, I also read on a blog somewhere that there was a falling out over the sound quality one year and that for the last few years they have used line arrays? Funktion One have never made a line array, Tony Andrews has never appeared to be a fan.

Unless of course the differences have been settled with Glastonbury and Funktion One..

I was a bit surprised to read that bad press as Funktion One are supposedly the holy grail.

So....

Friday: RAM records with Andy C etc (prob with Loadstar or Wilkinson etc)

Saturday: ??????

Sunday: Ratpack with Baby D and Angie Brown

Any rumours for the Saturday...?

A little surprised with the Ratpack booking, no one really knows about them anymore but will work..

I predict an announcement today. Arcadia on facebook said leak soon 3 days ago..

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
