Drug Driving

I doubt thats relevant. The crime is driving under the influence. To prosecute you just for having traces of the drugs they have to show you were in the juristiction (not for example in a country where its legal), that you knowingly consumed etc.. I really dont think that would be worth their time

It will be relevant if they bring in the new threshold system next year along with new drug driving offences which will be similar to the system in other countries where there is a set level of micrograms that will trigger prosecution similar to the alcohol threshold.

surely that threshold will be at a level that you can still be affected by it? i.e. having a joint 3 days ago shouldn't make you vulnerable to a prosecution for driving under the influence, if you're no longer under the influence?

Agree with this.

In terms of alcohol am I right in saying your body gets rid of roughly a unit per hour after drinking it?

With this in mind would there be a release of time frames as to how long it takes the body to be rid of the chemicals in a joint etc?

Are the police going to have the resources to man an operation of this sort on the Monday I wonder. Police budgets are being squeezed, and they are having to make cuts everywhere. A one off hit on a reasonable scale on the Monday will cost the police dearly. Money, I'm sure locals would rather be spent on them throughout the rest of the year. On top of that there is the issue that such an operation could cause traffic chaos. The locals are wary of the traffic caused by the festival anyway, so will presumably be even less amused if they are further delayed on the Monday.

Personally, I lay off everything on the Sunday, maybe have a couple of pints is all. That's because I usually leave early on the Monday morning and am usually the driver. For me, it's scary enough going back out into the real world on the Monday, as it is. I wouldn't want to do it half pissed and stoned. I can actually be quite sensible at times.

I heard that a few years ago someone was in the carpark on the Monday telling everyone that there were mass breathalyser tests going on.......................... and he was selling single use breathalysers for £15 each so you could test yourself. Apparently he did a roaring trade! I suspect he wasn't being entirely truthful about the mass testing by Police.

Forget about the chances of being caught by the Police.

Have a think about whether you're in a fit state to drive, from a safety point of view.

I'm not being peachy, i've had my moments, but tiredness is bad enough after a long festival, let alone booze/chemicals!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
