If anyone's reading anything into Rob's use of the word "extravaganza", note that Plan B's current live show is a pretty big, theatrical production.....

Plus, he seems to be available next Wednesday, can easily play an initimate set on an acoustic guitar, and is headlining a few other festivals this summer.

Errrm, Hence the sarcastic face I obviously wasn't being serious.

Thom Yorke played a kind of intimate solo set on Jonathan Ross the other night, so I'm going with him & the headliner being Atoms for Peace. I refuse to believe it will be Plan B or Example! Though Plan B would be the lesser of two evils :P

"Here at Bestival HQ, Rob da Bank and crew are super-excited to announce that we'll be revealing our much anticipated 3rd headline act this coming Wednesday 15th May as we take over the HMS President 1918 Bestival style! Holding an exclusive one-off Bestival party in the capital, we'll not only be unveiling our Friday night headliner but this very special guest will also perform an intimate and exclusive set! 100 limited tickets for the party are on sale now - be part of it! http://2013.bestival.net/news/its-all-aboard-the-hms-bestival-party"

Take from that what you will. I think a Thom solo show on Wed & then Atoms for Peace headlining could fit that. But so could a number of other acts.

I do think that Example is more likely, and I would expect that his full headlining show is probably a lot more of a bangin' live dance show than whenever I've seen him before, at 2pm near the bottom of a festival bill.

I'm really hoping for Plan B's big Strickland Banks + Ill Manors show though.

Thinking about it I would probably watch some of Plan B's set if it is him, he wouldn't be my first choice for the slot by a long way, but he's decent enough I suppose. Easy on the eye too.

But I'd rather be anywhere else in the world than watching Example, my mates dragged me to see him at the Big Chill Festival 2011, awful, awful, awful. Plus he comes across as a right dick & looks like he shares a bed with this fella

Noel Gallagher would be as bad as Example. Plan B would be much better.

We already have 2 commercial headliners, so I still think it'll be an artist/band that's a little more out of the box/alternative. If I had to put money on it I'd go for Atoms For Peace until they're ruled out one way or another.

    • I think they are just sold out ..... I find it highly unlikely that the entire arena wouldn't go on sale for a band the size of muse straight away.   Theres also some in those blocks on sale on resale sites
    • Personally, I do hope Fontaines headline next year. Feels like it's their time in terms of the contemporary element - I know 2028 could equally be but I think (and speaking as an old git) they are probably the most significant band to emerge for a good few years, and they've already accumulated 4 great albums, let alone adding 5th, to field a memorable setlist.

    • Alright fair, I thought she only did BST once. Though I do question how that type of pop show will translate to a stadium.
    • yeah, but I enjoy moaning about them too much so whatever I guess.   and besides... a few years from now there will be absolutely nothing on TV except for Coben based shows so I'd best get used to it...   🙂        (for anyone who has ever read a Coben book - are the books as utterly sh*t as the tv shows???)
