3rd Headliner

I don't think it has to be someone big.

Although the more I think about the mixmag thing/the "10 years of dancing comment/The Special Guest singular statment, I'm starting to think maybe it will be a dance/DJ/Electronic act.

I have changed my mind every couple of posts though for this thread. Keeping my fingers crossed for a band!

haha this suggests someone lame

a flop

lol - and I tried so hard to not be suggestive.

I'll make clear that the reason I wouldn't for this is nothing to do with the content and everything to do with the festival and timing.

The time for rumours is over really by this late in the year, and they'd always be a suspicion at the Bestival end that I'd worked from what they'd sent under embargo and not from some other source. So I wouldn't want to risk that relationship for something which I'd feel wouldn't be much of benefit for efestivals.

Doesn't mean they're big enough though does it.

Also I've just had a gander at the official Bestival Forums, Christ there are some idiots on there! Do people really think Fat Boy Slim is going to headline 2 years after playing the Big Top!? The mind boggles

course it is relevant, why would they have him back as a main stage headliner two years later when he's done nothing to warrant moving back up the line up? Plus he's headlined before, back when Bestival was a lot smaller & he was a lot bigger, so that's Rob's no repeat headliners rule out the window too.

Think before you jump on the defensive, yeah.

He headlined the first Bestival which makes him relevant for this particular festival. There is no 'non repeat headliner rule' is there, the festival is only 10 years old so less of a chance of a repeat headliner in that time. If it is a dance orientated headliner (as is the suggestion) then he is still one of the biggest names around so that qualifies him regardless of where he has played before.

    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
    • Not expecting a tour imminently but Peter Gabriel would fit the vibes magnificently.
    • I have but a very long time ago and can remember nothing about it at all. Which I suppose is a review of sorts
    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
