Reasonably happy with this. Never seen him do a live set before (only djing) so ill probably be there could've been a lot worse given some of the names that were mentioned (although I'd concede it could've been a lot better too).

Brilliant though he may be, he should be headlining the Port, not the main stage. This confirms for me that the story about Arcade Fire pulling out was true.

Hell look how far down on 2011's poster Fat Boy Slim is, what a joke. Anybody know if anything else is getting announced tonight?

I'm watching videos of his "live" performances on Youtube now, the vibe seems great on them all (better suited to the Port mind, but hey ho)...does he not even play his own tracks though? Just re-hashed remixes of other peoples work?

Is now the time to point out to people expecting/wanting Nick Cave/QOTSA/Moz et al that it's RDB's bash. Have a listen to his radio show each week and you'd know that he's never going to book that kind of headliner.

Whatever you think of Norman he fits the Bestival vibe perfectly. Played the first one, is hands in the air party music and played 2 consecutive nights in a his own headline British stadium gigs in the last 12 months. None of which you could really say about Nick Cave.

Wasn't too enthralled at first with this announcement but after watching some videos and thinking back to his headline set three years ago at Rockness, I'm now really looking forward to seeing him. He may not have been the 1st choice and he may not be the most technically gifted DJ but the man knows how to throw a party. Much better than most the other names that have benn floated about.
