Wow love the way the band just seems to assemble during Copy of A... bit gutted if Biffy get less than 2 hours but they will still pack in loads of songs and NIN into Biffy is easily gonna be the best fest closer ever.

Yeah, it's reasons people think it rather than necessarily being the case.

NIN '07 is the 2nd best performance ever in the history of music. Flaming Lips at Jodrell Bank in 2011 managed to top it. And Pumpkins weren't better that night, although that little bit of Star-Spangled Banner was a magical moment.

I still enjoyed Nine Inch Nails in 2007 but I missed the first ten minutes of their set after being dragged to watch some of CSS (what happened to them anyway? :O) and I had already seen them earlier that week supporting the Foo Fighters. I guess being a huge Pumpkins fan was always going to weigh in their favour for me as I had waited for so many years to finally see them, and I wasn't disappointed.

Is it true that Lostprophets got the biggest crowd that day? Thankfully I missed them but I've heard from many sources that they did.

but better than it was in Coventry I can tell you that.

What they should do for the Nine Inch Nails/Biffy Clyro problem is hire extra sound guys/stage guys to try and set Biffy's stage up in about 10/15 minutes as opposed to the usual half hour.

Is there any possible way of doing that and being reliable as well do you think or would it just feel rushed and possibly mess up Biffy's set?

Reading's one of the few places you could probably manage it given that they have the drumkits (and seemingly most of the set-up) on rollable stages.

They wouldn't though. As you said they'd need the effects set up, and a shorter break would reduce the amount of time people have to go and buy drink / food.

Would like them to add the following songs to their setlist:

  • Something I Can Never Have
  • The Day The World Went Away
  • A Warm Place
  • We're In This Together
  • All The Love In The World
  • Every Day Is Exactly The Same
  • Right Where It Belongs
  • The Beginning Of The End
  • Lights In The Sky

While still keeping these in there too:

  • Hurt
  • The Hand That Feeds
  • Wish
  • The Frail
  • The Wretched
  • Head Like A Hole
  • Closer
  • March Of The Pigs

So far I think they're gonna try to keep most of:

Copy of A

Came Back Haunted

1,000,000

March of the Pigs

Piggy

Terrible Lie

Closer
Gave Up
Help Me I Am in Hell
The Way Out Is Through
Wish
Survivalism
Only
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like a Hole
Hurt
These have all been the consistent ones in the last three shows.

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
