So, Supersonic was released 19 years ago today. Haven't listened to it in years. Gave it a listen there and............. its total shit! Fucking appalling.

As is most of Oasis stuff on recent listens. Amazing really how its aged so badly. Can't really think of many 3 chord bands who have lasted the tests of time.

How were they so popular?! I thought they were the bollocks in the 90s.

I still listen to a lot of Oasis...and so do many of my friends of all ages....think a lot of their stuff is timeless and I reckon most people in the UK would be able to sing Wonderwall word for word whether they are a Oasis fan or not!

Sorry a bit of a random attack I know.

Did a CD changeover for the car collection last week and have Definitely Maybe in there. Threw it on and couldn't believe it was the same album everyone loved, including myself. Its ok at best. But some of the lyrics are just embarrassing. Supersonic is unlistenable rubbish. Ive heard better lyrics from Bewitched. Reminds me of that "I got a house with windows and doors Ill show you mine if you show me yours" cobblers. (sorry they've reunited and the song was on the radio earlier).

So anyway then I dug out Whats the Story then to see how that sounds it its even worse.

Come on, you can't have a bad word to say about Slide Away surely? Columbia? Fair enough they've come out with some dirge since (which I've half heartedly defended), but there's no denying that first collection of songs.

Saying that, I'm not really a fan of the production by Owen Morris with Oasis. Especially when you compare what he done with A Northern Soul.

Not obvious at all how this band of singularly mundane ability played to 330,000 people in two days for example.
