Soooo chuffed about this... one of my top three fave bands headlining Reading :D If we have SOAD that will be two of the top three... and then if we get Brand New lower down the bill (has to be possible) we will have all three :D

The Vertigo Of Bliss and Infinity Land are absolutely incredible albums, constantly breaching the line of pure pop and weird as fuck. then came Puzzle, which at the time i loved, but looking back is a pretty average album of stadium rock, and then came Only Revolutions which was even worse. such a shame to see a band take such an un-subtle turn towards the mainstream

Why does everybody keep saying this? Biffy could easily be the "indie" headliner, just at the slightly heavier side of it. (Infact I am starting to think, since indie landfill is dead, we should just stop using the term.)

Anyway good to see them TBC :D SOAD on the other night and foals against Eminem and they have me considering a ticket!

That a tough one for me to be impartial on, and Kasabian were proven major festival headliners unlike Biffy, but at the very least I don't think Kasabian had done a tour since the previous Nov/Dec. Biffy's tour lasts until April this year and will be in full swing when they're announced, I imagine that means they'll be less excitement about seeing them at the festival and it will have an effect on ticket demand.

On the flip side people could come out of a gig thinking "wow, where can I see them again next?" and go straight out and buy an R&L ticket, but I think they're more likely to say "meh, Biffy, I'm already seeing them next week" when they're announced.

Biffy have definitely earned their place as a headliner. it's just a shame that their performances on their most recent tours seem to be ALL Only Revolutions / new material. i'm pretty sure i've seen setlists of theirs in which they play Only Revolutions in it's entirety. i understand that bands want to showcase their newer material but playing an album almost in full and playing just one or two songs off of previous albums is a joke, especially when they only have five (soon to be six) albums to choose from. i imagine their Reading headline setlist will be half Only Revolutions, half Opposites and then maybe a couple of the previous four albums songs stuck in their

Neither headliners do anything for me, especially not Biffy, boring and are always around. Seen them before at festivals and they've bored me. Really hope Alt J aren't headlining against them.
