Glasto jogging?

Hi all! I was at a festival called wilderness this summer and as part of it they had organised jogs around the beautiful site. This has got me thinking has it ever been tried at Glastonbury and would people do it if it was offered? Before you all fall about laughing, the one at wilderness was really popular. Cheers

I can barely walk most the time. Jogging is definitely out the picture. Good idea though.

I seem to remember posters for a Sunday morning underpants run round the site.

Last seen a few years ago I think so I'm not sure if it still happens.

Or if the posters were real for that matter.

I run when I can at home and had wondered about running at Glastonbury. But I simply must have a shower after a run so that would rule exertion out. Oh, and it's probably difficult to run in wellies weighted with G mud.

This is true! At wilderness it was very sunny and dry!

I think having to walk around the square mile site each day would more than make up for needing to run anywhere. I might take a pedometer this year just out of curiosity,because you always think you have walked further than you probably have.

Seems like a good idea....... but who really has the energy first thing in the morning for jogging; it's all I can do to muster the strength needed for the long drops

I did however see one lonely plodder at Glasto 2010, around 0730; didn't feel the need to join him

I think it's safe to say that jogging is one addiction I won't become a victim of at Glastonbury.

The most I can manage is staggering all over the site. I believe I get enough exercise from doing that.

If you wake up in the morning and feel like jogging you're not enjoying Glastonbury properly.

Every morning I wake up feeling like I've ran a marathon the day before, and used booze instead of water.

Actually I like the idea of a leisurely Sunday afternoon jog (around legend slot time) from the John Peel Stage to the Acoustic tent, via the Pyramid Stage. Especially if its a muddy one (which it wont be by the way. NFR NFC)

I often jog at Glastonbury, first thing in the morning to get to the toilet before its to late. I also jogged, well ran one night a few years back whilst in shangha la. Was in a room with loads of beds and rugs all on the floor and you had to take your shoes off. I started to need the toilet so went to get my walking boots but they had been moved, found them after about 20 minutes, by then I was desperate. When I came out I had no idea were the toilets were so was asking people whilst jumping up and down on the spot. Finally got there in time.

I run regularly, but unless you are training for the actual olympics, there is no reason to run at Glastonbury. There is a more than adequate supply of walking, dancing & gemeral wild jumping up & down at Gladtonbury to maintain fitnrss levels over the 5 days.

I have to admit that I struggle to get out for a run for about a week after Glastonbury let alone during it!
