When he headlined in 2009, he only played a few other shows (HRC, Hampden, Dublin x2 possibly) before Glastonbury, much like only playing Manchester, Sunderland, Dublin & HRC this year before playing Isle of Wight.

The year before in 2008, he played 7 stadium(ish) shows in the UK & Ireland, with no UK festival appearance. What struck me the most though, was the Cardiff & Paris dates...

June 14th 2008 - Cardiff - Millennium Stadium

June 27th 2008 - Paris - Parc des Princes

June 12th 2013 - Cardiff - Cardiff City Stadium (alleged)

June 29th 2013 - Paris - Stade de France (alleged)

The dates are VERY similar. If these turn out to be true I think they're just coincidently timed around Glastonbury. Isle of Wight essentially replaced Glastonbury on this tour I think, so can be seen as good or bad dependant on your viewpoint.
