New album coming out next year - With them hardly playing live I think it would make sense to play Glasto - Make more money playing Glasto and getting on TV where everyone will find out they actually did Heartbeats than playing one gig at the o2 or somewhere!

Hard to scope where they would play tho, not big enough for the main stage maybe ? Would HAVE to play at night time!

Judging by both the Silent Shout setup and the Fever Ray spectacle, The Knife would have to be in a tent, and at night. Dance village would have too much soundbleed, and they don't seem like a Peel Tent act.

Another artist told me that Karin hated the experience of playing festivals on the Fever Ray tour and "she may not do it again." I pressed for more info and it all amounted to logistical concerns (not having the ideal atmosphere for light and sound, rushed setup, no soundcheck and pre-production time, etc). All of that is a big deal when you're so meticulous and have such a theatrical show.

Even if they tour again, I doubt The knife ever does Glastonbury, though. Someone like Bestival would surely lock them down as an exclusive like they did with Fever Ray in 2010. And The Knife would be a much bigger draw. I don't know how much Fever Ray usually got paid for their festival appearances over there, but the figure I heard for Coachella was pretty obscene.

agreed that if they are available that bestival would look to get them on an exclusive, and that they would only accept a tent and in darkness.

there's no stage at glasto that they really would shine on. the park yes, but they wouldnt do outdoors. John peel just doesnt seem right.

More likely to do their own shows and an ATP maybe

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
